Rediff should employee good film review experts. Don is not a remake of AB's Don. It's a Tribute. SRK's Don is very good in this generation. The performance of all, picturization and dialogs are good. One should not compare old and new DON. The Story is entirely different. SRK is best. One should watch the movie for Babes, Cars and Gadgets...
I have seen it.And I can't give more than a star and half.See...the whole point is this is a REMAKE.For an instance,if we all imagine this one to be the FIRST one, definitely it would have won so many start..considering the plot,dance sequence,not to mention the super actions. Not, let's all come back to reality.This IS a REMAKE.The skeleton is the same...its just a new face.Whatever good you see in the new Don should be credited to the old skeleton.Whatever sloppy things we notice out here is certainly the Farhan effect.For example, there can be no argument that the Paan song was a thousand times better in the original Don,even when you consider it was shot against such a poor backdrop.
Let's accept it guys...pure brilliance can never be surpassed by technical mastery.
For those who have not watched the original, I'd urge you to go back to the good old VCD/DVD shop and grab a copy of the old masterpiece...watch back and see how even with a paltry budget(the old Don was stupefyingly poor in action sequences..especially the rope walk by Pran..its horribly laughable) the director(Chandra Barot was a debutant) managed to deliver a gripping product.
I am not at all surprised by Sahrukh's over the top performance or Priyanka trying to be too smart. About Arjun rampal, Boman Irani less said better.
I am only sad that how come a director like Farhan akhtar who has made DCH, can come to such a level. Sorry Farhan ...You need to go back to your DCH days ...
DON defintely comes as one of the most over HYPED yet horrible movie to watch this year, like Mangal pandey was last year ...
New don is a real disaster compare to old don. Please don't compare with original don.....It's a message to sharukh khan that never try to become great Amithab.....if he wants to become like that still he has to go long way ahead....nd he has to make a lots of changes in his acting.....new don is an utter DISASTER.
jus bcos there is remake of the original Don doesnot mean Shahrukh is comparable to Amitabh. Sharukh's a good actor, no doubt but c'mon u comparing him with whom!
As it has been observed that indian audiences never read wht media writes about films ,and for this one KING KHAN is there it is suffient to watch.Definietly a one more big big HIT,
