Why should the govt acquire land and pass on to business houses. All the corporates are sitting on heap of money. Industries are well developed. They do not need any support from Gvot. Let them spend on acquiring the land directly. Govt should buy only barren land for the purpose of industrialisation. The concept of SEZ and industrailisation have been misunderstood. In China an industrail zone will comprise of 30,000 acres with forex revenue potentials. In India it is a real estate scam. Even one rupee forex qualifies for SEZ status. Even 10 acres can be called SEZ. WB govt and so many other govts are buying into the corporates plans (which in turn support the elections). Nobody has the right to take away the land forcefully. Mamta is right in her approach. Perhaps she can be considerate to Tata group which is the most transparent and employees friendly and respected corporate group. Look at Jamshedpur. COnsidering the corporate ehtics of Tata Mamta should reconsider her decision. She should definitely oppose reliance and other corporate groups whos contirubution to the society is insignificant rather pittance compared to the benefits they got from the society through all means.

Know the facts: only 130 acres out of 1000 acres are in dispute. The owners of this 130 acres are not real owners at all but used to be tenant farmers but got ownership documents because of the Land Reform Programme of the CPI(M) in 1977. They are very poor marginal farmers, their land cannot provide enough for them, so they regularly work as labourers. Now because of TATA there is no shortage of jobs in Singur; they can get a job easily. Plus they will get a huge money ( 1.3 times of the price of land in 2006 and interests from 2006 to 2008) for land which they never bought with money but just got as a gift from the government. As a result, they all want TATA to stay now, as the value of their land will go to the bottom if TATA leaves and there will not be any job either. Mamata is creating trouble only for political reason since the LEFT has decided not to support Manmohan Singh government. Mamata did nothing since 2006 when the TATA has decided to set up the plant in Singur.

If you're so worried about the marginal farmers, why are you bothered about tata shutting the plant?
Don't be another Mamta Banerjee...choose sides and stick to yours.
Please do not allow Nano cars to be plied on roads in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. This will kill the already harried roads and traffic in these cities. Nano should be allowed on these roads only on Saturdays & Sundays.

No man...arre how can you argue about National Development? Small and Marginal Farmers, auto wallahs, beedi manufacturers will all need to be taken into consideration. Not the Nation as a whole for heaven's sake.
Let the nation go to dogs...who cares? As long as the interests of small farmers, political henchmen and supporters of the ruling government are taken care of, nothing else matters...please remember...TII This Is India!

TATA does not want to eat idli sambar bad quality rice and dahibara. These are the only food available in Tamilland. No wonder all Tamils are leaving for Dubai

Another NRI hehehehe you'll be surprised Vongali VOVu, there are more places to eat north indian food in tamil nadu than there are food joints in west bengal...having lived there for 3 years, though born and brought up in hyderabad, I can tell you this.
So surely vongali vovu who doesn't even know the difference between b phor bhombhay and b phor bhaijhag doesn't really have a voice to comment upon idly sambar or dahi wada...

But the workers will all become dark, after being in TN for some days. Then no other movies to watch other than Surya or Rajni movies, which is the biggest drawback. Place will have more deaths by watching Tamil movies and speaking Tamil, than for any other reason
