The Govt. can allow only even and odd numbered cars to run on alternate days.
We must think in terms of two pronged attack to deal with this inevitable crisis. Fistly encourage alternate sources of energy viz. Solar and Bio fuesls with subsidy and Secondly use all peaceful persuassive measures to reduce the population growth drastically, even to the extent of giving monetary and educational concessions to single child families.
RE:RE:Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Delhi, M'Pradesh states will also fall from Congress. Congress will be wiped out from these states. Smart Coterie has been thinking to do something in the election year. But alas! congress is trapped in a huge net.

Discourage all sorts of private vehicles. Bring in a system where public transport systems are more convineant and user friendly. We may not be able to sustain the individual transport system for vary long in the future. For some simple reasons like oil price, congested roads, pollution, unusually high energy consumption for doing nothing so fruitfull ( ex travelling 100s of mile for watching so called hyped IPL) I know people will not accept these things right now. But when they are left high and dry with no resourece/very expensive resources at their disposal, they would compromise. But it should not be too late.
It is a good idea to raise the petrol price to hundred rupees a liter. allocate Rs 30 out of it for cross subsidization purposes like giving money to state road transports and railways, and also to build new state of the art roads, and metro rail network in most of the urban cities. Also make annual payment of 25000 rs on every diesel car and 50000 mandaatory on luxury diesel car.
We hv stopped hearing about family planning. The world population was 90 cr in 1900, which is now 620 cr. Population hs grown 7 times, but the land availablity is same. We hv destroyed lot of forest land for agriculture and other purposes. Only India's population is now 110 cr and increasing everyday. Moreover per capita energy consumption is also increasing.
No one seems to b worried. China has wisely adopted one child norm since 1979. We should also do the same without any delay. Already there is lot of price increase, water and air pollution, traffic jam (what will happen when Nano comes?), deforestation, extinction of many types of animals, birds and plants.
The population of developed countries has stabilised. The same must b done in other countries.
Some Muslim Moulavis speak against family planning. They should b punished for such anti humanity utterances.
In addition simple living and high thinking should b encouraged. Stop following fashion and using beauty aids.

if we dont care of our problems Nature will cull do not worry on that front. Many African countries are unable to get rid of diseases and the life expectancy has dropped to below 30.

In addition to land, which is constant, the quantity of oil, natural gas etc is getting reduced day by day.
Points 1 to 3 clearly indicate that this Author has not paid for the petrol for his car. It also indicates that the Author is economically better off that he proposes such ridiculous ways of collecting revenue. Our FM will certainly appreciate such a person, for in every budget, newer means of taxations are thought of and these proposals are certainly new and imaginative (though ridiculous).
Loss of sales of Automobiles would mean a loss of revenue to the exchequer and loss of jobs of the people dependent. Auto Sales constitute a major revenue earner to the country.
The only sensible suggestion seems to be on the issue of a White Paper.

Its a Real time think on Self-sustainability. so,Re-Introduce of Horse-cart, bull-cart and Cycle-auto to City roads, if posible support Battery-operated bike,cars,Lt-commercial vehicals.if our scientist are able,let them Invent new-Solar-car, bike,Goods-van. otherwise we should be happy with Our Horse,Bulls,Donkey sometime Cart with 2hefty Dogs. What Govt can do,without dirty politics? Centrol Govt can do- Cast/Religion base Politics, Make money as much as posible, Live happily with Public money Come to media As film-stars, Elert for next election- search a new-issue to misslead public. Govt neglected altranate-source to petrol/Electricity. Electricity can be Produced without-NuC or Hidro-power Projects. India covered with sea- tidal-energy can produced, solar is there, but who has a time to think? WE ALL NEED INSTANT, Instant-drink,food,even energy and fuil.
