Yes there is a lot of groupism with Tamillians. They want all Tamillians to be there in the team. This happened to me last month where I work. There is a lot of politics and crap with the tamiliams been PM/TL or PM. I hate those type of attitudes.

Punam Anand Keller-HR
by Sundar Venkat on May 14, 2008 11:33 AM  Permalink

Though Indian Management is growth oriented and able to compete global markets, still there are certain areas where HR Management is weak. Still it is a hire and fire function only and treats the Employees as toilet papers only. If all the Management of all organizations in India are tteating employees as their prime resources, why so much of industrial disputes. I do not think the days would come that all Employers would take initiative to respect their work force as expected. In India Employer is always on the upper hand. That ego status gets maintained.

Late Realisation
by vidhatri saxena on May 14, 2008 10:53 AM  Permalink

Seniors don't realize how important their subordinates are. They don't think what pressure they are going through. They simply want results. They discriminate as they do not have a criteria to judge their abilities. Moreover, they are not enough knowledgeable to understand that the work done by his/her subordinate is quite good. Later when such hardworking employees leave in a huff they tell their other subordinates that that employee was good. Employers should not be 'kan ka kacha'and should never compare psycophants with hard working employees.By Vivire

Indian Mentality
by Harry on May 13, 2008 09:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Actually in the last 20 year since the IT and BPO boom no sane employee can complain about the treatment by the company. Its just that 95%of the new Graduates have no corporate work culture and are confusing issues. They find their skill in demand and behave irresposibly most of the time. Taking leave without sanction, drawing salaries in exces of 30 K per month and yet complaining about work hours etc,not wanting to be held responsibel for deliveries and quality is all rule rather than exception. It is time various association of companies got together and formulated a common charter for the employer and employee. Its high time employees also got productive and quality conscious like our european and american counterparts.
