pay commission
by shishir pandey on Mar 25, 2008 08:24 PM  Permalink

like past commissions this one also has taken the men in og for a ride after all ats headed by babus and a jurist. a col with 20 to 28 years of service gets the same pay band as under secy with 12 to 14 years of service, soldier getting bullets in his chest gets a paltry sum of few lacs and is remembered twice a year whereas cricketrs and film stars gets crores and crores not to talk of politian getting born in a family makes you vvip from day one so much so a kid is excused frisking at airport but not chief who is responsible for national security and we feel that its only that person who can lead us no wonder men are not coming to join forces and soon we shall be forceless country because we deserve it

No projects/work for PSU employees like BEL,BEL etc
by sandeep kumar on Mar 25, 2008 09:43 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am absolutely disappointed with this needless hike to these guys. I know friends who are employed in BEL who come home at 4 pm, and spend the entire day in office on the net and sitting in cabins. I am a software engr with TCS, and do more work in 1 day, than these ppl do in one month. Yet govt always ignores private sector employees, who wrk day and nite. Also, the projects are being taken up by LnT and other biggies, so no projects at all for these guys

Everybody knows what type of work you people do and what output you give. If this kind of mentality persists then GOD knows what will be the future of contribution from Indian Scientific Community. More ever you people get increament every year and once in 11 years government servants are getting hike which is certainly less than your annual increament, then in what respect you are doubdting their capabilities. First look to yourself and then point anybody else. Take care. Please don't pass general statements regarding government servants.

6th Pay commission
by umesh ram on Mar 25, 2008 09:34 AM  Permalink

Pay revision of Govt. employees is Ok. But what about employees in public sector undertakings. Employees of some PSUs work 6 days a week, in factories, with wiring jobs, uncondusive atmosphere and strenous and are posted in far flunged areas too. When govt will wake up to compensate them for 1 day extra per week. Why two parameters for employees

pay hike OK, but not for everyone
by Raavan on Mar 25, 2008 02:24 AM  Permalink

The problem with Govt. jobs is that the hard-working scientist gets paid the same as the no-show scientist, the hard working bank clerk get the same hike as the paan-chewing absentee clerk. Govt. should read some books on management and employ policies that reward hard work, honesty and intellect - Just showing up to work is not enough (some govt. employees don't even do that).
Govt. needs to define 'performance benchmarks' for jobs and then hike salaries based upon them. Such blanket salary increases would only empower freeloaders and increase inflation for the general population.
