These public sector peoples do nothing and expect hikes...only sitting on their bench doing gossips...it should be better to cut their salaries rather giving them hike....

No I think he is right.
let them earn by bribes only.
our society has already accepted bribes, no point hikes unless it comes with a counter plan to kill corruption

NO JUSTIFICATION OF HIKE
by Rakesh on Mar 24, 2008 02:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am working in chemical company in 3 shifts and that too involes hard work but am getting less than the govt employees who are just enjoying discussing cricket, playing cards, sleeping on saturday, sundady and going on picnic frequently, visitign native places on many other holidays which I cannot do. In pvt all people dont get good salary but in govt even a donkey gets the handsome salary as per this commission? increments should be totally performacne based and not via any commission? morever these govt employees are a huge vote bank and by pressured tactis they bend the govt and get all facilities whihc common man cannot get. this is indirectly injustive to poor fellow indians.

Mr. foreman, maybe if you had studied and done well you would have had a salary of 40K in the same company. Do not take out your angst and your misfortune in the guise of your message above. Who told you people do not get good salary. A good salary is worth what a person he is. So look inside yourself, you will find your answer.

Appraisal
by Amrit Patil on Mar 24, 2008 02:20 PM  Permalink

Appraisal sys in Govt. Secotr shuld be systematic they called it Confidential Report. ITs depend on Person who signs the report, its not depend on performence at all. It is higly polluted by castism & if boss is of your cast then only you can dream a pramotion or hike. That is a major draw back of this system. Once employee get to know that he is not going to get any pramotion or hike he slow down his work & do not perform. Everybody knows this fact but no one want to hurt anybody because of Vote bank. If boss is from uppercast, he can not put adverse remarks on subordinate's report due to threat of atrocity. Govt. shoul look in to this matter.

VEry good Central govt - Lazy govt employees earn bonus for non performing and for delayed resluts.
by muniswamy balakrishnan on Mar 24, 2008 02:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

pls think before sanctioning because you are going to pour funds for those people who do not deserve such benefits simply because private companies pay more to thier employees, they pay more only because they screw them ( FOR 12 HRS)that much in work and get the desired results and outcome if the results were not to thier expectation they simply throw them out --------- can the central govt or state govt do the same since you dont have such guts, shameles fellows you do anything for vote and to retain your ministerial post.

by Bammy on Mar 24, 2008 02:40 PM  Permalink
Problem with you guys is that for you every govt. employee is essentially a dealing assistant you see in varoius offices(at least your thought I can guess from your words). Have you ever seen how much a officer level guy works?? and how much they get for that...Have you have any idea about how much a defense personnel, a DRDO scientist, a doctor in remote area works ???It's not only you who works for 12 hrs... FYI, a segment of govt. employees thanklessly work for more than 12 hrs in lieu of stipulated 8 hrs !!!
Do not they deserve a salary hike? See, the problem with you pizza, burger guys is that you just speculate and your world is centered around your key boards. Bros, once come out of your high tech arena and see the reality how a govt. employee survives.
The major thing govt. employees offer to you is the liability and responsibility. And remember, even a dealing assistant is handling more than a 1000 guys where as you guys are confined to a single domain !!! Do not they deserve more?
Have respect for others, Remember, no body wants a 'haram ka roti' unlike you guys who serves for foreign agencies and talk of Indian Govt. and its employees!! Your logic would have been appropiate if you would have been in the system and talked about all these.

Why dont you see a major or colonel in this chatroom - because most of them are busy on the borders - remeber they are also part of govt. employees.

Hike in Salary - what about output
by mani shrinivas on Mar 24, 2008 02:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Govt Servants are likely to get a hike of 40%. How will the Govt ensure the output and efficiency is also up by that much. We all know how the Govt offices work. Can the PM give the measures taken by the Govt in this regard to the nation ? I feel the hike should be based on
individual performance as in the private sector rather than increase in pay for increas in inefficency and corruption !

Your current D.A (47% of basic) will be merged with the basic, along with a marginal increase in the basic. And you will be paid 14% of this basic as D.A from Jan 2008.

Yes..Nothing reflect the PERFORMACE. It for everyone. You don't need to be a rocket scientist. I have have experienced this beofre with 5th Pay com -

Evrything willcome heavy on common man - That why I suggest performace based culture in Govt..Not calculate whole amount and divide by # of employees.

Just imagine what signal are we giving to corrupt gvt people - A Reward with 40% pay hike

Regards.

Correction: Read the text as follows:

Hi Roni and Siva,

Why fight with each other?

I am a pensioner since 1995. My total pension from what it was in 1995 has incresed by over six times since then, that is, @ an average of 46% per year. It was fixed at around 300% of the initial basic pension when the benefits of V Pay Commission were announced (wef 01 Jan 1995). Similarly, the rise would be substantial for all including pensioners. Suppose someone is drawing a pension of 10,000 PM, he should get anything from 13000 upwards.

Thanks,
