Friends it is very easy to blame others .it is duty of every civilised citizen not to pay bribes and be vigilent. We should use RTI act promptly to bring in transparency in the govornmental system. lest declare zero tolerance for corruption and it should start from ourself. the system cannot be improved only by blaming but taking corrective action against it.RAJAN

EVERY WHERE YOU GO YOU HAVE TO GIVE BRIBE, BE IT RAILWAY, STATE GOVT OFFICE ANY CENTRAL GOVT OFFICE EXCEPT DEFENCE SECTOR. While going through many messages here I found many Govt. employees even dont know how to calculate their salary. Why the commom tax payers of this country suffer these lazy dump heads-or the so called Govt. officers?
these govt. craps are real burden for India. Their salary should not be increased, because they just dont deserve it.

no idea bro...but from wat I know is...IFCI is making profits since more thn a year now, and govt. granted some money also in the budget to IFCI to cover its NPA`s...
I beleive gradually, IFCI mite show gud profits...

if paliament passing this pay recommendation this is sure the the country going to be ruined soon.
Please keep in mind that the government employees enjoy guaranteed employment for life. They are responsible to a large extent to keep our cities, airports, railway stations and all other public facilities at conditions which is the worst in the world. They are corrupt, lazy and unaccountable to say the least. Though some exceptions may be there, but generally (more than 95% of the employees) it is true.
We cannot deal with any government agency without paying bribe. The less said about the Indian police the better. This group of people (the government employees) have almost singlehandedly ensured that we do not enjoy any democratic rights in India.
The employees of the private sector are BETTER than these army of corrupt government employees. They have made a name for themselves all over the world and are sought after as employees all over the globe.
Let the government employees learn civilised behaviour first and then ask for any increase in salary. In any case, how much will a salary raise of 40% make to a corrupt employee making lakhs and millions every month by taking bribes?
Time has come to downsize the government and 50% retrenchment should start the process.
Government employees should stop acting as parasites for the rest of the society and make positive contribution wherever thay can. They can start by stop taking bribes, but will they after this pay hike?

Why should you use such strong words like Parasites ? Govt employees are hardworking too Except me most of my relatives are either in Central ot state Govt jobs. Indian Army, Railway Police and a teacher. My Grandfather served the Indian Army b4 independence during WWII. I can understand that people in Govt sectors are increasingly becoming complacent bcoz of the job security while they should be doing the opposite. Believe me, eating pan and spitting is not done only by govt employees. who do you think is responsible for the great bars / hotels in the developed and non metro cities ? The corporates. Name any one govt official of late who got piss drunk and killed a few people driving a car/ lorry. There are good and bad employees everywhere. its just that in Govt jobs bad ones are retained (but believe me they are side stepped in a manner that humiliating)
I would say that stricter methods of selection and pronotions and incentivisation can improve the conditions.
More importantly, Politicians play a major role in the complacency of the Govt officials. What did laloo do on air while in one of his surprise visits to a railway stn in UP. He was caught spitting on the track on camera. Bad leaders setting bad examples.
Why do you think Indian Army got a Sikh general after 58yrs of Independence and now he is a Governor too ? Answer is quite simple Dr Manmohan Singh. I am not being accussative but thats reality in Govt jobs.

Before accusing the govt. employees in general you should observe your behaviour first. Are u not responsible for the corruption for which u are solely blaming them. I would put some questions before u to make u judge your own corruption level: 1. R u willing to stand in a long q ? 2. R u willing to wait for the red light to turn green ? 3. will u carry the victim of your car accident to hospital and surrnder before the police? 4. r u correctly asessing your tax and paying to the govt.? 5.etc. etc - there are hundred more question
If the answer to these questions are in positive than u have the right to blame the govt. employees else not - because u r more corrupt.
