The question is whether the 4200/- worker can do the same work as the 10 lac worker. My Friend, have you ever even heard of skilled and non skilled labor.

Hi, Though this is natural, discerning people will realise that these sort of news really do not give the whole picture. What's the background of the student? What salary was (s)he earning before the course started? What is the base salary and what's the bonus component? In all probability the highest paint student will have landed a job in the financial sector abroad and not in India. Government can only impose a min number of years that should be worked in India after gaining a degree from institutions set up by the Govt, like IIMs and IITs. But it cannot impose such restrictions on students from private instituions. Sorry for the long message.

Don't get Tense Guys.... Go through the eligibility for PGP course for which this offer is made: Applicants must have a bachelor%u2019s degree or equivalent in any discipline and should have at least seven years of work experience by March 2008 in a supervisory / managerial / administrative position. Candidates with legislative experience are also eligible to apply provided they are (i) 27 or more years old, and (ii) have one year or more of experience as a minister at the central level or as a member of parliament or 2 years or more of experience as minister at the state level or as member of the legislative assembly / council; or have served for 5 years or more as councilor of municipal corporation or of zilla parishad.
..... That is we need to have 7 years or more exp at managerial level..... So any regular IT guy with 7 years or more exp at managerial level must be earning a decent salary. On top of that , he will definitely get a good hike being a pass out of IIM-A.Plus the packages in financial companies comprise of Huge amount of bonus which in some case is more than the regular CTC. And, yes its given at the end of year. Nonetheless, IIM grads are expected to earn more than any other grads in country as they clear the toughest exam in the country. But all you regular IT / ITES guys like me...need not worry... DREAM ON..DREAM BIG..

hi....u got it all wrong man...it clearly says that the PGP programme's salary is more than the PGPX(which is the one for executives with 7 years experience). The PGP is the normal programme for which ppl get thru CAT and the offer of $360000 is for PGP and not PGPX

Rediff pls understand that most bloggers here are normal people with normal jobs... Pls do not advertise such salaries as all it will achieve is jealousy, envy and spite and responses that portray those emotions.....and i don't see nething wrong in that cos those are natural responses of people who can't dream of such salaries most of the times...
The point i'am making is that such information and such placement reports don't serve any purpose in rediff fora!!

Guys . Pls calm down. Think again. Money is not everything in this world..Most of all are having decent jobs and leading happy life i assume. Let s not join the mad rat race for earning the most. No need to feel bitter about it.

Agree with you completely, all that it leaves behind after a couple of hours is a trail of envy and venom, for an individual earning a salary of 6 lakhs per annum in an IT company or 3 lakhs per annum in a BPO/call centre, this info only makes him insecure and angry that is he earning less than what he deserves??

With due respect to your sentiments and emotions i don't quite agree with your views on this. Let me clarify that i am also a regular IT guy earning the salary that most of us in IT MNCs do. But let us not forget that aspirations isn't all that bad. It challenges you to put hard work to earn a better living. There is nothing wrong in it. These are the factors which drive people in IT industry or otherwise to switch jobs for better pay packages, more meaningful jobs and a better quality of life. In my opinion these posts help people to think beyond the mundane day to day job and to strive hard to go to one of those places which ensure better jobs. At theend of teh day getting into one of those prestigious schools is no cakewalk and anyone who manages to be there should get what heshe truely deserves.

Dear Sidharth, I agree with you and what you say only if it motivates people and make them work harder for beter living, but what if it makes them jealous? Maybe many feel that getting into top IIM is beyond them? That is why i'am just saying that salaries need not be advertised, rather rediff should do research and find out why they are getting such high pay, what are the positions etc...maybe then the feelings might be assuaged, jsut mentioning sheer dollars might make bloggers here a little envious. Hope you take what i have said in right spirit, Thanx

Rediff is in the business of reporting news. They may choose to investigate a certain a story but not such simple stories. If someone feels they are not capable of getting into IIM, then they should be able to understand why they are not getting that kind of salary. Being jealous is a waste of their emotion. Almost no one can play cricket as well as Sachin (at least until few years back). So should we as a nation be jealous of sachin of his gift and thus the wealth that he has earned?

It should not make your day SHIT. Well you if want that kind of salary, you have the option of working your ass off and trying to crack CAT and getting into IIM and then working hard to be among the top students at IIM and landing a really high paying job. If you or anyone decides you would rather not do that then thats your choice and you should not feel like SHIT
These student Get the huge salary and going abroad and then settle their.what is the profit of indian govt . if they will do the job in his coutry and helping in any Govt sector where lots of corruption and make any govt sector financial strong .then study is helpful
Your report should probe why he got such high.Which company has selected him and what he will be supposed to do ? Why these companies offer such a high package.
