Airtel in bad hands- Poor management at Delhi
by abhijit sengupta on Jun 17, 2008 01:03 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am happy if he has achieved this award he deserves for making it happen in India. I understand maintaining his busineess at the same level would be very difficult with the kind of lousy managers he has at Delhi- I have three connections of Airtel and would love to get rid of all off it even after being a loyal customer for so many years. I hate the company because I am away in the US and even after putting my number 9810085441 in Safe Custody for the last 6 months. Last month some goons representing AIRTEL caled up my family and threatened them for mere Rs 1,100/ and to my surprise I have not used the number for the last 6 months. I hope if he wants he can address issues like this before his business goes out of hand.I am sure there must be many such incidence and it is only a matter of time before such goons will bring the company down crashing. I am hurt as even after doing the final settlement last month. I have received a bill again for this month. It is so sad they have no policy and lousy management. I know he must be a busy man and will not care to blogs like this but if he wants he could address similar issues and take care of the corrupt practices and ensure customer satisfaction.

In case one of your colleague reads this note I would appreciate a call to my Number 1 201 961 5302 (US) or 9818441618 in India after 23rd June.

Even I had the same problem with Airtel. I was using 04 Airtel post-paid connections. I sent a request for cancellation of one of these. With in no time, I started getting calls from their GOONS just for Rs.500. What a BULL-SHIT that was ? This incidence took place around 2 years back and based on this experience, I got other 3 connections canceled too. Since then, I have been using Vodafone and believe me, the Customer Service is amazing.

Even in case of their Land Line and Broadband, they are no less. Initially, they promised me N number of things and once, the connection got installed, they showed their real colours.

AIRTEL is Just PATHETIC.

Thank you Rediff, for posting this video. Mr. Mittal exhibits a level of maturity/understanding that we need to see much more from business leaders in India. National building is indeed a tough job but someone has to do it. He seems to understand key issues and has practical solutions for these issues. In the years to come, besides Bharti, this will surely be his legacy.

The need of the hour is creating smart agricultural engineers who can ........turn unaired soil to fertile soil.........
by shobana nair on Jun 16, 2008 07:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Yes the need of the hour in most of the countries is to produce more agricultural engineers and efficient farmers who can turn unaired soil and barren lands to fertile lands and produce the food grain the country need.A few years of efforts will surely bring fruit.Land should not be weighed with the money it will get if sold to corporates to construct factories and offices, but also that the land will produce the valuable food the country and the men will need.

Who are poor people, why cant they get out and work in a factory or some thing. Why are they depending on some one else to gro food for them.
Even if the fertile soil was not built upon and was cultivated where will these so called poors get the money to buy it.
They need to work and factories provide that work provided they want to work.
If they just want to lurk around and do nothing then no one has a free meal for them.
no one owes them a free meal.
Neither the people of India nor the government of India.
Vijay B, THE WORLD HAS EVE.RYTHING BUT NO ONE GET ANYTHING FOR NOTHING.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FREEBEE.

In case you are not aware, India has the lowest unemployment ever since independence. Urban unemployment rate is 1.63% and rural unemployment rate is 2.8%.

get some commonsense (unfortunately, you can't buy it in market). If all the fertile lands are used for setting up industries, then where will food come from?

Sheetal,

We cant eat/drink factories.... we need food. If we build/construct factories in good land, then we need to import food from outside, then again it is worst than the current situation.
