Fuel cost is one point
Over heads arealso too much
Reduce the salaries of pilots.and other staffs
Man power reduction is also a must. Except running/flying staff others can be loaded more than 100 %
Definitely they can take advices from Lalu Prasad.Havard and other institutes invite him
He has shown the profit and means
HIGLY PAID PEOPLE CAN BE CHARGED MORE BY AIR THAN AN AVERAGE(DEPATEWILL HELP)
Thanks and regards

rising cost is just because of demand, the resourases are limited, demand is much more so the prises go up, as you are getting a good increment every year, will be sacrifise it and say year 1971 my father was getting Rs.100 salary he was able to run home

do you think the per barrel rate of fuel gone up from $95 to $135 in the world market is just because of UPA Govt. if so... thats a good explanation

That it is not possible to absorb the additional cost is not agreeable. Railways too are in this same country, and are running by the same fuel or electricity. The salaries and other overheads have gone up there too. But if they can manage without increasing fares, more so, slash carriage rates so well, why can't Airlines do the same? It is just a matter of management and being harsh with wastages! The staff are overpaid, the excess of staff doing nothing and roaming here and there. Further, in Railways there are many many ticketless travels inspite of which there is profit whereas in flights there are no ticketless travels. How can there be loss to airlines?

Rightly said and compared with railways on issue of ticketless travel but on fuel cost issue both are not compareable as railway consume too less fuel per passenger per km when compared with air travel. It is true that airline staff are quite overpaid. Cost cutting should be initiated from this front rather passing on all the hike to customer

Trains and planes run on the same fuel?? Dude, are you high in the noon?? There is no airline in India making money. If you have ideas to make an airline profitable why don't you try and convey it to them. They'll pay you millions coz u'll be the only one with such an idea.

Going forward we have to see some airlines shutting shop.

Well all said and done the fact of the matter is airline travel is becoming so costly that in few months time it would become unaffordable for the so called common man to travel by air.Airline industry is very good in passing on any additinal cost to customers but they need to look at there own operational cost as well. Ultimately they would lose on passenger growth and Airline industry as a whole will be in ropes.

a flight from delhi to mumbai flying cost will be around 5L, as a train is much lesser than that with much bigger capacity
