unfortunately, an indian too will be part of this .. imagine that! he might have made a number of good moves. but if he's invested on corn based alternative fuel technology, bio diesel based on corn. its places him on the wrong side for most people cursing for inflation!
China advancing at a rapid pace and will soon be a developed nation.. India on the other hand clinging on to NRI jokers who are of no use to this nation or in some cases do not even call themselves Indians..
No doubt India is growing at fast pace and revamping its infrastructure. This is going to put much strain to the environment. As america screwed environment and now talking/adopting bit of environment friendly techniques. We should try to implement cost effective techniques among them like the above cement manufacturing technique. This will definitely good for health aspects of our people as India has billion population on small area of land so we need to be more cautious in adopting these techniques.
this renewable energy thing has gotten lot of aettention after jobless al-gore made a movie using his political clout. talk about time wasters. Al gore deserves an award for that. he got a nobel prize also. again that is something ridiculous. there are peace activist and other with brainer ideas those people are overlooked. al-gore house in usa spews more carboibn gases than anyother millinoarines home. that is leadership? it is all hypocrisy.

where did you get your information about al gore's house? did you sweep floors or clean toilets over there? stupid a$$
Vinod Khosla is in the right place. US creates problems but always finds solutions. Though US is 70% dependent on imports, Al Gore has initiated steps to produce every kw of electricty from renewable energy within ten years. His scientific advisers say this is doable. Rather than spend trillions in debilitating fossil fuels & time running out due to carbon emissions, Gore wants the new President to blaze a new path. Already steps, including that of Khosla & Boon Pickens etc, are towards that direction. The aim is to get renewables at less than fossil fuel prices.
We generate great heat in our politics which unfortunately cannot be captured to generate electricity. It is estimated that 1% of sunlight in Sahara desert can power the world. Also, 40 minutes of sunlight can give electricity for a year. We can produce 600000 mws a year from solar, that is many times our requirement. Yes, we cannot do it now but the equations are changing fast.
Renewable energy is the new area for venture capitalists. Internal conbustion engine is also under attack & hydrogen fuel, better battery technology are around the corner. Even a car to run on water in Japan(so let us believe it).
Bush wasted opportunities & looked for energy from the wrong sources. Obama will have new perspectives with people like Al Gore having influence to wean them away from fossil fuels.
But for us, our leaders stoke their great egos at national cost. Let us join with US for the right reasons!
Man this country is full of Deve Gowda's. Neither they would do anything nor they will let others do. All they do is stand on the fence and complain about people who are at least making some effort. Read posts below you will understand what i mean.
It is the american mentality to spend the natural resources for themselves which is the reason for this sorry state. The so called 'Angel investor' should first introspect and conclude whether the energy wasted on a 90 minute round trip to drop his daughter to school is worthy. I will waste/spend the natural resources according to my whims but will only lecture the world on environmental pollution is a typical american way of life which is the cause of this entire climate change/global warming problem.

Wow. How very insightful. In the nine pages of information on Mr Khosla, the only thing your mind could register is the 90 min round-trip he does in a hybrid car to drop his daughter. Well Guest, learn to appreciate what he is pursuing and try to achieve something personally before you alight on that moral high ground and set about pointing fingers.

what is the point in teaching the world environmental friendliness when you yourself cannot resist your temptation to screw the natural resources. It is just show-off. I do not doubt his intellectuality but there is no humaneness. That is the saddest part.
