This should be applied to the employess who are not billing to the client like.. higher management and all managers... members who are working for project .. even come to office on weekends and remain in office after normal office hours.. should be excluded from the salary cut.

I think it is time for TCS to stop recruitment . In TCS always 40 % peole will be enjoying and doing nothing and getting paid .Time for TCS management to learn , how to use existing employee efficiently, to cut cost and make profit .Give them handsome salary .

What are you doing on weekends and late nights in office? Just licking your boss? You boss is staying in office bcas his wife will kick him at home. Go join elsewhere man. Its just takes a week to join another company with a much higher salary. Ofcourse if u are handicapped worker like most TCS'er , no one can help you. Hahaha TCS employees are a laughing stock in US Client sites...
many people in the IT sector work on the tools developed by the americans and feel that they are the ones who developed those.
People here believe that they are doing some kind of a PhD thesis work whereas they will be doing just excel copy-paste work.
And to top it all, the project manager thinks that he is the onner of the company and will go about formenting trouble in office due to his ill-concieved notions

If only u aircraft maintenance engineers had thought beyond screw tightening India wudn't have to import planes. Get over IT dude. Atleast it earns Forex.
how many people are affected by this over-hypes IT industry of ours ?? not even a 0.5% of the population depends on these IT cos.
and btw more than 70% of the people in IT industry are on bench and will be squatting flies most of the time. Its is a shame that an entire generation of top talent of our country is being withered away by keeping them idle most of the time.
Why are the internal targets that are set not announced to anybody? How can you show a sustained revenue growth of 5-6% and still say that you have lost in the EVA target set? Are the employees taken into confidence before making such an announcement. The results were declared in the mid of Jan and dividends announced for the shareholders. No cuts in this? Wasnt the management aware of the shortfall at the time of announcing the 3rd Quarter results? Why is there a 2 week gap between disclosing the Qaurterly results to the public and the "cool" cuts in the Variable allowances for its employees? Nothing happens to the shareholders, but cuts for employees. Thats a new definition of being an employee friendly firm!!!!

Very Greatly narrated. Completely agreed with your Openion. All this is happening due to No Unions of employees

A company can have revenue growth and falling EVA due to rising operational expenditures and/or a fall in capital asset efficiency....
A company can claim rising profits and still have a falling EVA due to fall in capital asset efficiency....

Agree with the revenue growth part. didn't understand the profit part. how can profit increase with decreasing EVA, even with capital asset efficiency.

Perfectly correct. All these things are happening because there is no one who question them. Taking advantage of No Employee unions.
will not think that the company is fair in reducing the salary. There is a clear cut evidence of lack of transparency. TCS did not explain based on what parameters they reduced the salaries (Variable Pay) at an employee level.they told in annual compensation letter that EVA might vary. But Many times the Target EVA crossed the expectations. But never increased the salary. Through internal communication they declared the salary cut and EVA target differences of Q3 only. What about previous quarters. No details sent to employees. No transparency. Companies Taking advantage of no unions in IT Sector.
TCS earned about 60 per cent of its exports revenues from the US and 24 per cent from Europe, with the domestic market contributing about 8 per cent. Only 8 per cent!
