i don't understand this part. whatever we do we think what west will think of it. what are their views about us. how should we change ourselves to be praised by the west etc etc etc. just stop all this kind of thinking guys. we got to do what is gud for us. just think about everything happening around. all of u should feel ashamed of think in such a manner. whatever happens it should be in the best interest of people in Bharath and for our country itself.stop thinking about what others think about us, then only we can develop ourselves. the whole world knows that US, UK, Austraila etc all are rougue countries. knowing all these why does our media always keep on thinking about them only. See the incident happened recently in cricket, and i can give numerable examples like that. just try to be urself, be bharatiyudu and not western. TATA NANO is the pride of our country...that's all.

US, UK, Australia all are rogue countries? I pity you, you fool. To say Tata Nano is the pride of India is insulting India. If you have to compare india with such developed countries as US, UK and Aus, think big. Not Nano! Make roads, provide water, power, healthcare, hygiene and education. Don't make Nanos.

Raja moshai, Yes.power, water etc. ,but what is the govt. doing with all our taxes? Spending on salaries of Presidents ,and SPG cover for worthless people? Each infra-structure project has gone years and resources beyond estimates, but the govt.s are sitting pretty. A man makes something useful for every one, and you turn hyper-critical? You have got it wrong moshai. Let Ratan Tata flourish. He will also build power-plants if govt. does not get in the way. These govt.s only know how to raise petrol charges. What do they know about people hanging on to the few buses there are, and buying candles because there is no assured power-supply?

commie...go to ur bengal and find the answer to ur problems...when ur commie brigade solves it...spread it to the rest of india.NANO is an ENORMOUS achievement.probably the only car that could fit in your narrom dingy lanes of calcutta..o sorry Kolkata.though you people would rather prefer a rickshaw puller running on his legs..and u guys sitting on majestically on the seat..and sutta(cigrt) in ur lips..good..u continue to live in stone age while we gusy would drive the magnificient nano.long live Ratan Tata.
It is ridiculous to blame Nano even before it is on the roads!. Americans have been polluting the planet for 100 years now!. Americans, stop driving your Ford and switch to a fuel efficient and environmentally clean car!. Nano could be a good choice for some of your congested cities!
As you are aware the yankees dont keep their new cars for long they change very often. So this Nano is cheap and good for the Americans It will be a hit in the U S thats for sure. Nano should look to the US to sell and they will deifinely win there. Americans can forget their monopoly over inventions.
believe it or not nano is going to create traffic problems....and we do not have wide enough roads to tackle this situation ......as far as tata is concerned if it is so much concerned about the commmon man why do top suites at the taj cost around a lakh of rupees per day?...also please dont compare nano to even a maruti 800...the car looks pretty unstable shape wise unlike a maruti 800 which seems to have better aerodynamics...nano is a somewhat a good transition from a bike to a car...the good thing about nano is that we wont have to see a family of 4 or more on 2 wheels any more....

You correctly said don't compare Nano to Maruti 800, but reasons you gave are wrong. M800 is a safety hazard. You have ahead collision and then you are dead. Zero percent chance of survival. I guess now maruti will atleast start crash testing their cars.
It is truly a great effort by Mr. Tata to bring a dream of an Aam Aadmi into reality.
But, it is also the responsibility of a human being to take care of the one & only world's environment against Pollution, Green house effect, Global Warming, Raising Fuel Prices, War (American War for the land of fuel) etc.
The entire world would have appreciated Mr. Tata, if he had brought the latest generation technology car (Say an electric car) at an affordable price to a comman man.
We need not have to so proud & happy about Nano, as Nano will pose Mega problems for our environment. For this our future generations will pay a heavy price.

yes buddy u r true, first of all US should stop all its cars running on the roads, then automatically the world's pollution problem will end.
Americans have to stop showing off their env sensitivity by preaching others to walk where as they can go around in road rollers (they are also called cars in America).
why do see only the negative things in everywhere and not see any positive?
yes, there are lot of problems in india, but it is developing, slowly but steadily.
there is no point in arguing over good/bad. just help whatever way you can. even if you are doing some job abroad, that is itself a financial help for the country.
Its great that Nana os here.We all know its USP is only its cheapness, well nothing wrong there we were looking for something like nano. But when we buy a car ,we also expect other things like ride quality, safety, comfort, robostness etc.If Nano gonna prove to be all that ,then its great. If it turns out of bad quality that one associates with Cheap products then i wd say even for 1.4lakh its gonna costly to the middle class person.

read this car specifications It meets all the safety, quality and pollution norms set up by Europeans and others
To all you Indians who are Nano-criticisers, its easy to criticise something when its already done but it takes a Tata to have the guts to go ahead and do something new even when there are millions waiting to pounce on him(and most of them, just for the heck of it). And to those of you who think that the Tatas made it for money, I'd like to know What money-making are you talking about? How much do you think is the profit margin in a 1 lakh car? do you know how much money has gone into its RnD? Its in tens of billions. So, even in terms of business, its gonna take years to break even. Not to mention that the Tata group, which operates in everything from salt to trucks, is not desperate to make profits from such a venture. Its not that the Tatas came up with the Nano because they're going down or something. They are a 30 billion dollar revenue making company(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tata_Group) folks. To top it all, the profit earned from any Tata venture doesnt go into Mr.Ratan Tata's coffers. 66% of their profits go into charity. I dont know about you guys, but it sure makes me proud as an Indian that somebody from MY country has achieved something which none of the so called giants of the US of A did. Period.

Yes, I believe you are 100% right.
It is truely a great achievemnt by TATAs. Engineering excelence at it's best! TATA's Enterpronureship is evident with this launch & an motivators for other budding enterprisers.
Even after param computer, pokaran, India is still seen as not qualified to competing with US/Germanies technologies. May be it may require many more NANO's to get rolled out.

Wonderful work Mr. Ratan! You have done us proud. The greens are not really concerned about the common man. Look at Al-Gore? He himself pollutes the quota of a 1000 people in other countries. Is he the ambassador for the greens? The Brits, americans, australians are all just concerned about themselves. We should not even worry about what they are saying. Good luck Mr. Tata. Eagerly waiting to see the Nano take a major market share.

I REALLY AGREE WITH YOU SIR.
TATA'S ARE BY FAR CONTRIBUTING MORE TO CHARITIES THAN ANY OTHER TOP BUSINESS GROUP'S OF THE COUNTRY,WHERE THE TOP INDUSTRIAL GROUP'S NAME NAME WAS NEVER ASSOCIATED WITH ANY CHARITY.
I LIKE TO ADD ONE MORE THING.
BUYING A CAR EVEN AT THE PRESENT COST i.e Rs200000/- IS NOT DIFFICULT TO MOST PEOPLE,BUT THEY ARE NOT BUYING BECAUSE OF OTHER PROBLEMS LIKE ROADS,PARKING.
SO NANO MAY NOT CREATE THAT MUCH PROBLEM.
ANY HOW DON'T CRITICISE BECAUSE OTHERS ARE CRITICISING OR FOR THE SAKE OF CRITICISM LIKE OUR POLITICAL "LEADERS" WHO ARE IRRESPONSIBLE AND OPPURTUNIST'S.
WE SHOULD CHERISH THE MOMENT A CAR PRODUCED BY AN INDIAN COMPANY ATTRACTED SO MUCH OF ATTENTION FROM videshi MEDIA.
IT SHOWS PEOPLE ARE WORRIED ABOUT INDIAN THREAT IN MANUFACTURING also ALONGSIDE OF SOFTWARE.
I AM PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN.
I WISH ANY INDIAN ENTERPRENEUR ALL THE SUCCESS IN THEIR FUTURE TO TAKE ON FORIEGN MNC'S.
Which is the most corrupt 5-star hotel chain in India? Taj group. Worst dish service? Tata Sky. which finance company is in the red? Tata Finance. I could go on and on..... I admire the Tatas myself, but India is much bigger than them. Don't equate them with Indian nationalism.
