To all you guys who are Nano-criticisers, its easy to criticise something when its already done but it takes a Tata to have the guts to go ahead and do something new even when there are millions waiting to pounce on him(and most of them, just for the fun of it). And to those of you who think that the Tatas made it for money, I'd like to know What money-making are you talking about? How much do you think is the profit margin in a 1 lakh car? do you know how much money has gone into its RnD? Its in tens of billions. So, even in terms of business, its gonna take years to break even. Not to mention that the Tata group, which operates in everything from salt to trucks, is not desperate to make profits from such a venture. Its not that the Tatas came up with the Nano because they're going down or something. They are a 30 billion dollar revenue making company folks. To top it all, the profit earned from any Tata venture doesnt go into Mr.Ratan Tata's coffers. 66% of their profits go into charity. I dont know about you guys, but it sure makes me proud as an Indian that somebody from MY country has achieved something which none of the so called giants of the US of A did. Period.
