True it might be made by IAS but where were they for past 60 years? If we blame him for fodder scam as kingpin, we should also accept this as a great effort. Stop being hypocritical about the person and love the good work.

I think railway making profit is merely an eyewash . It is purely a figure puzzle by which Indians are being fooled. What was the performance of Lalu as a chief minister of bihar. suddenly he has become a magician?
Nothing has change in railways. Travel by railway local trains and you will get the answer.
I think it is not extra budget , its like normal budget, In sleeper class he has reduced only 5% fare that is not moneysaver, It should be 20% in sleeper class.

The Great cogress leaders Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi were elected form these places. Since 1947 these two places are never changed, If any developments starts the congress seats become trouble. So they donot want to develope this places.

there are lots of new journey trains in Bihar, Bihar getting highest benefits.
our rail minister should know that he is rail minister of hindustan not Bihar.
In bihar in there internal transport of rail people rarely take tickets. The revenue generation from Bihar is quite low. But still most of the new trains for bihar & no special attention to the other parts of India. Like Mumbai (higest revenue generator of railway), chennai etc.

This is again Laloo trick to come back in Bihar. In bihar people don't take tickets. Trains are stopped in between and if TT comes he is thrown out. You have Laloo station also.Gunda Gardhi started after laloo came into power. What laloo is doing inside Railway nobody knows. How much he is making profit does any one knows.

HA HAAAAAAAAAAA. Good one, ultimate truth . In BIHAR ppls rarely BUY tickets.
If BSNL could do it, Railways can do better. Railways can double the profit as it depends on your crafting skills. In abscence of a competition it would be right to asssume that Railways have become efficient. Comparing with itself does not mean much. Railways need to be partly freed of Governmental controls to breathe in free air, fresh ideas and innovations. Under Governmental control it takes ages to get things incorporated or executed. Even if 10% is given to express themselves, the railway can run at ten times the speed in mobilising resources and optimising the existing infrastructure. There is 1000 fold demand for railway seats/tickets, which are never accounted for. Wasting the demand in a competitative world is suicidal. I am sure if Railways go public they can corner the biggest investment ever. It is foolish to keep Indian Railways in Chains. Nehruvian economics has lived its day. I needs a sound burial. It is surprising that this is happening in the times of Professor Manmohan Singh, the emeritus Professor of Economics. I think Honourable Lallu Prasad did not learn any hard lessions at IIMA. In a world which is now totally goverened by the Supply and Demand Economics, wasting even a day is crime against humanity. Infrastructure sector needs to be freed of Govermental control for optimal utilization of our scarce resources. May there be light in the unending darkness. An ordinary man can never manage a seat however urgent it may be, even though Railway Booking is

kuddos! good one,the job of the govt. is to make policies improve business environment... list is endless running companies is job of management cadre not bureaucrats....
Best of its kind result of team work, dedication, devotion, positive thinking of team leader Railway Minister Sri Lalu Prasad Yadav. A wooping profit of 68,000 Crore in last 4 years after paying dividend of 70 days salary to workers and determination of reducing burdon is not a easy job. We congratulate Railway Minister for well done job

I am amazed at the profits. If this is true, then Lalua is one of the top CEOs of the world. Else he is chaara khor scamster.

I dont know if its a scam for the next govt. to discover. But if the profit figures are true, then Lalua has beaten most Harvard educated American CEOs with his earthly wisdom.

In a country of Billion people, where the Major transport system is completly monoploized by one party, what is so big inmaking profit?
In UK competing with Virgin Railways, UK Rail corporation has been making profit for many years.
Indian Railaways is a Cash Cow which hass been impoverished by Politicians and Babus for long.
Now Lau understands that, unless they put their acts together, Indian railways will make a sine die as many PSU's .

ha,ha all are gimicks of Laloo. Maya of laloo. Don't believe laloo has done anything. Foolish public
I do not see anything that could enthuse the passengers. All tall claims and cliches. They are not able to inaugurate even the trains announced in previous budget, now 63 more trains announced. The projects he has announced may never materialize as his predecessor will find them economically unviable.
Cutting fare by 3-5% would not help. It would further overcrowd the trains and make journey miserable by adding a middle sleeper in 3A and SL class.
Indian public is appreciating RM for a turnaorund they must be ready for cattle like treatment.

laloo Prasad Yadav should me made Prime Minister. His performance as railway minister is good. Atleast he has shown how to convert a loss making organization in to profit making. Except his corrupt practice in past, I think he is a good candidate for Prime Minister position.

I agree, Atiar Molla. How he has turned around Railways is simply unbelievable. Nobody will believe that a scam tainted CM of anti development Bihar has done what most CEOs of the world cannot.
