googlinglife ... you really need to understand what is called an INVENTION.... if there is any REAL INVENTION then i am sure every Indian out here would be praising it.... but if a bunch of school kids BUY a HONDA LAWN MOWER ENGINE and put a coffin shaped box over it and attach 3 bicycle wheels and start calling it their INVENTION and then people like you start praising it then GOD SAVE INDIA. In this case the credit for fuel efficiency goes to HONDA not these bunch of foolish kids.

As much as students need to be innovative and inventive, this can at best be considered as some attempt at putting together two wheels and dont know what else? Has the university called it an invention. Then i seriously wonder the capability of academics to call it a car. They could have called it any other thing, it could still pass as invention and students some happiness for whatever they have tried. But, to call it car is not at all rite... And rediff, why do u publish such school boy antics here? Is it really so bad that u dont have news. I am dumbstruck.

2 HP engine. I guess they can sell it to milkman's they could carry 2-3 litres to milk in this(not more else it'll break down)..Rediff is great they followed these nuts to Bangalore..

Hey Ajit, Its not necessary everyone has same skills. I may not be a automotive engineer to build a car.. but that doesnt mean i cant comment. This is ridiculous to be called a car. Call it anything else.. fine. And if university has called it an invention, then we can surely think of what pressure under which they have budged. This is not rite and it just brings down the standard of university to call it car. Give a new name if it invention... Invention is not in making a car go in lesser mileage. Thats performance tuning. Invention is bringing a brand new product never before utilized or seen in the market.. Else this is a version of something may be large vespa scooter.. thats it.

It's piece of shit.. 2 HP engine, cycle wheels. there's no big deal about this, I was under impression they did some break thru in cumbustion procedure of energy transmission or something. It's nothing great, just a less weighted toy cycle..

Myself being someone who is an inventor with some patents, i think i am in a postion to take an OBJECTIVE view on this topic.
1. Yes I know how difficult it is to INVENT, I have been there, done that, seen it. 2. Yes I know how people ridicule you, specially in INDIA, if you deviate from the beaten path, I have been there, done that, felt it. 3. ALSO I have seen how some TRASH had been praised to the sky and genuine inventions have gone unnoticed. 4. Can anyone of those who are honking their "horns" in favour of this so-called invention, please enlighten me on WHAT IS THE ACTUAL "INVENTION" that has been done by these students? Isn't it the HONDA LAWN MOWER ENGINE that gives a fuel efficiency of 180 kmpl, so shouldn't the CREDIT GO TO HONDA, rather than these "so-called" ENGINEERS(???).

This is another Metro hype. You can see lot of such things happening. The media will highlight even small silly non-practical things by professional colleges in metros just to hype up issues. Times of India is an example and rediff is in making.
These guys have atleast developed something during their stint in the college. Kudos to them!! Others please keep quite...what you(we) do in college other than study everyone knows...so...thumbs down to Generation XXX... Well done ...Garuda Team :-)

Yes I agree that atleast these guys DID something, that is ALWAYS BETTER than doing NOTHING. But if our so-called "ENGINEERs" (???) from such "hallowed" collges as this one can do only as good as this, then we better do nothing. Atleast they could have designed the body of "car" so that it did not look like a coffin. and please don't tell me that, that wud have been very difficult to have a flatter nose.
