by rajnish bhatnagar on Apr 11, 2008 01:52 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We have best :
* Manpower
* Economics Directors
* Best techniques
But we result in:
* inflation
* corruption
* waste of corporate money (public & private)

apply american pattern and stabilise the energy which are over with that of which are under.

As now its not a question of pomp & show and prooving, its a quest of serving meals to 100 million country. Everybody please don't mine, just put your mind before my words.

Point to Note!!!!! Starnge games powerful people play
by sumant mishra on Apr 11, 2008 01:49 PM  Permalink

Hi,
The best way to become a hero before the common man is to solve his biggest problem.So when there is no immediate problem in sight, political parties have created one, which they will solve soon , just before the elections.In the meantime there is huge lot cash to earn too, from the benefitting individuals.And they say" make hay when the sun shines".The middle class of this country is the best example of educated and egoistic fool in the globe, including me!!!I congratulate all on the newest distinction .acheived

RE:Growth in Paper
by Alak Mazumder on Apr 11, 2008 02:01 PM  Permalink
I do fully agree and accept your viewpoint.There were enough tools available
with the government to sound an alarm bell and act in time. The situation today is somewhat an offshoot of the combinations of lack of political will,integration with the global economy and neglect of rural economy including agricultural economy for a long long time. The closure of thousands of branches of rural banks since 1991 is a clear pointer in that direction. Alak Mazumder

This had to Come
by Gautam S on Apr 11, 2008 01:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It had been coming for long since 1991 ever since we started aligning our economy with the globe (read WTO, Globalisation, etc.). While it gave us a chance to enter the global markets & establish ourselves, it also aligned our economy with the world.
All the commodities are now governed by the international commodity prices. I belong to the Rubber Manufacturing Industry and in the name of International Pricing, the prices of rubber have gone from 35/kg to 115/kg today just in 2 years. What became expensive??? The water fed to the tree??? or did the tree demand more money??? Everywhere else it is the basic grower of the commodity who is earning handsome margins in the name of international pricing..
Who is earning money in this scenario? It is either the one who has the basic access to the raw material..whether IRON ORE or RUBBER or WHEAT and so on.

So start from the very basic places.. Inflation will be automatically controlled.

IT IS THE GROWERS/MINERS TO BE BLAMED IN THE FIRST PLACE.. AND GOVT. IN THE SECOND PLACE FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL THEIR GREED.

Government should reduce import duty on Oil
by Abdulla Pathan on Apr 11, 2008 01:42 PM  Permalink

If we want to bring inflation down then government has to take following measures.
1. Slash import duty on oil import
2. reduce import duty for all necessary things
3. Prepare model which will allow government to purchase food grain from farmers at low rate ( as goverment has already given freebee of 60,000 cores)
4. Allow price comititon between Indian and global companies.
5. Take action against middle man, who earns handsome money by purchasing food at low cost from farmer and sell at high price.

Heartening
by bharat reddy on Apr 11, 2008 01:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is quite heartening, the ppl of this country have been a benevolent lot towards the pathetic lot of MP's /MLA's and all government officials, silently withstanding corruption, negligence and lack of responsibility.
How much more can the people take. If people having decent enough incomes are facing the heat then what of the BPL and lower income group.....What of the effect on the nutrition and health of the citizens of this country. It pains the individual if he is struggling to provide the basic food and essential items for his family. Government is happy , keep ppl poor and then offer them schemes for employment or subsidized food (rs.2 / kg in AP) and win elections....who is trying to find a long-term final solution to this problem, everyone is intrested in short - term plans and concentrate on next elections. History will remmeber India as a country always 2steps away from greatness and a country that prides on bringing its own downfalll rather than some external factor causing it

unfortunately the educated and unity loving Indians are a minority. The ground realities of vote bank politics are entirely different. I have seen party workers come to villages and ppl being huddled away in a lorry like buffaloes before the election day, the night they r served free liquor and a specific amount of money and next morning they are taken safely to the voting booth. Guess if liquor and money arent there then not even 65% of ppl will vote

Rising Inflation
by balwinder manku on Apr 11, 2008 01:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

According to me Congrees Govt.directly shouldnot be blamed because Regional Parties like Akali Dal in Punjab have started"Roti-Dal"Subsidary Scheme and DMK in Tamil Nadu is giving Rice at Rs.2per/kg to poor public only to get themself to Power.So the actual price in which the Govt.purchase the foodgrain from Farmers has to be Compenciated with the remaining Stocks.

Arrey Balwinder Manku! You dont seem to be having any idea of inflation or its causes. The UPA is squarely and wholely and solely responsible for this price rise. It has had no vision for future. P Chidambaram was boasting himself and talking arrogantly so long, now he is not seen anywhere!! Government has utterly failed because of Left oriented policies which have been thrown out in all countries including China and Russia. Price rise can be arrested only by increased production; now this government has made poor farmers poorer by making them borrow further and government is writing off 60,000 crore at whose cost? At the cost of the tax payers.

Please remember the past when India has been experiencing frequent famine periods deaths owing to that.We overcame that owing to planned efforts through Green Revolution without any foreign help in the form of technology or money.Now people like you are showing over enthusiasm about globalisation and market economy.New policies lead to a condition where authorities and mainstream media shown interest in hiking the standard of living of about 20% population in a country with more than 100 crore population.They are not interested in providing basic need of food and shelter to the poor who are earning less than Rs.20 per day(Govt's own estimate in Rural Enterprise Survey).If left policies are outdated then what is your explanation for the current economic situation in your holy coutry of USA?
