Congratulations you all! At least for securing all the research grants and fundings. Today without the word NANO or BIO you won't get any funding in any area. Pity but true.
Interestingly in Europe the situation is still better than US or India. Still there are fundings for other areas.
Nevertheless, Congratulation Prof. for all the good work and keep it up!

Ravi >> I fully agree with you. He is making sensational claims to get media attention. Poor Indian family in a village is happy if it gets 25 watt CFL running from & pm to say 11PM. ( 4 hours).
Today it is expensive to get is through Solar panel / Storage Batterry / Inverter (Poor people can no afford or maintain it)
By introducing Concept of NANOTUBES and increasing efficiency, he is going to make things more expensive.
In the past we heard enough about COLD FUSION, than heard enough enough about SUPER CONDUCTIVITY at ROOOM Temp. All these ideas came from Scientists working in Reputed US Laboratory. People got lot of Grants and nothing happenned.
This shows US also has a good number of RAMAR PILLAI'S.
This man is another Hoax. Even if he improves efficiency of the Thermoelectric junction, he can not promise Bare 15 watts from a stove. He has no idea about Millamperes generated in Thermoelectric Junnction giving Milliwatts NOT WATTS.
This work / concept is not new, neither is the concept of electricity generation from Thermoelectric modules. FLEXITRON a company based in Bangalore has already made prototypes of electricty producing stoves as early as in 1993 and even demonstrated them,They can be conatcted at : flexitron@yahoo.com.
The cost for production of some 'useful' electricty is what has stopped the products from being commercialised. It is a different matter that if subsidised it could be bought by villagers but as in any programmes of subsidised products the concept will eventually 'die' , only impulsive purchase by villagers as an essential item to improve their quality of life will make a long term impact for the end utilisation of such concept / products.

Solar Panels are differrent from Thermoelectric modules. Flexitron is into Solar Panels,
You have confused the two differrent aspects of PHYSICS.

Keep up the excellent work Prof.Mazumdar. A lot of poor people who cannot afford any electricity will be benefitted from these types of inventions. However, about 15 years ago I read one Russian proposal to create a gigantic solar power generator in space and transmit electricity from there, which can satisfy all electricity needs of the whole world. Solar energy for a hot country like India is extremely useful. If India government gives up all tax revenues from taxing the imports of crude petroleum for the development of solar energy, much of India's needs can be satisfied. However, the main attaraction of Prof.Mazumdar's invention is that it will free people from the State/Private Electricity Boards, just like the mobile phone has freed people from the whims of the Indian telephone company. Nano technology has tremendous possibility, India should explore it as well.
How about aus saying : "quota and reservations are NEEDed in USA", how come had go the job.
Unfortunate that caste system (dalitism, brahminism ) was practiced by local/native tribes and migrating people learnt from the native dravids who now act innocent about it.

I worked out 2 very unique, different, less expensive and above all with Zero fuel input (no coal no petrol no diesel etc.) procedures to produce Electricity. This idea will totally change the ways to produce electricity world wide. As till now this idea is only on paper and I alone can not make a model of it to show the world so I need help of the people from following area to convert my ideas to production. 1. Electrical Engineer 2. Mechanical Engineer 3. Chemical Engineer 4. Civil Enginer I can convert worldâs biggest problem ( i.e. heavy traffic) into a big electricity production source. And the second I can provide the procedure to convert domestic daily waste and sewerage into electricity.
