I give due consideration to your apprehension since you think that this is happening in India! But they have published this on 31 Mar and hence will be fools themselves if they are trying to fool us. That is not the case and hence this news is genuine and you are not being fooled.
I hope the new city will be well planned and one of the best in India. As its being started from scratch, all the common city infrastructure evils could be taken care of.

The politicians have created smaller states on the arguement that it will facilitate administration. But see, even after so many years, they are even struggling to develop capital cities. It is clear that there is nothing much to write about the development except that politicians are enjoying the facilities. People of Vidharba, Telangana, etc., beware.

Congrats Raipur and Sorry for NAGPUR. Once its a capital of Largest Indian State, Its Creates Three New Capitals. Its already having historic Assembly, HighCourt,RBI,Rajbhavan,Minister Cottages, Secretariates BUT NOT CAPITAL.

Pan shops should be there. its our cultural heritage. don't forget oldies for newly bride
as the state has build before 6 years n we citizens of raipur yet have to feel living in capital of state. because of lack of infrastucture here there are many plans had been made time to time but only on the papers. only private sector is showing its interest in changing the look of raipur. but both the central govt & state govt hav to take some intial & fast step regarding it because state govt election are coming nearer n we citizen of chhattisgarh couldt forgive these sleeping goverments.....
planning a new raipur is nothing more than new money making mathod of these politicians these people will give u shit and make millions of rupees and again they will start fight calling it a scam and stop the project by the time they will be rich raipur will be the same NOTHING CAN HAPPEN IN INDIA " MY INDIA IS GREAT"

You are right to a certain extent. There is no doubt that bigwigs are going to make big money. At least this time they are going to GIVE us also something! Think positive. Making a new city is no joke. This CM is trying to make one. That too a modern city. After the whole project is completed, you will be one of the firsts to say WoW!! It is better we allow them to make money by constructing a new city rather than make money by (mis)repairing the old city that is afflicted with too many problems.

I think Bhilai was the more elgible city of the state to be the capital. it is not suffocated like other city. I remember Mr. mahendra karma statement that if he will become the first CM of state then he will make bhilai the Bhilai. unfortunately he didnt become CM and Bhilai lose the oppurtunity. Its all political game.
I am in support of construction of naya raipur since i was the residence of raipur from last 20 years . I hope raipur will emerge as one of the biggest towns and will have a special place in India for its rich heritage and culture. we have to face few problems in the same manner we will have many advantages too .
