Stay Away from the Death [t] TRAP !!!!!!!!
by Vikram Kapadia on Mar 25, 2007 10:12 PM  Permalink

If you jump in the well you will die instantly. If you borrow from heavy interest and late payment and penalty levying banks, you will die a slow and miserable death!! You will become a vegetable if you are unable to pay your credit card or personal loans to banks. Will the Finance Minister or RBI take note of my statement seriously ? Before you borrow, better you learn wrestling from the WWF.

Get to the bottom of the problem
by Koushik Paul on Mar 24, 2007 07:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

People fall in debt trap because of ignorance & stupidity. I had been there, and I am wiser now, thanks to that experience. It's human nature to blame everybody but oneself. All that matters is how you perform during such difficult times.

They wont do that. Their (and all other in their cadre) intention is to keep service ethics as they like and to make a good face pretend to be customer loyal by this kind of acts. We are seeing this from all corporates. The concept of customer service department came up because customer complaints increased gigantically.

Standard Chartered is a bunch of unethical morons, wolves in disguise. Thay have no idea whatever they say and ethics is an alien word for them. You may beg or borrow, but stay away from these sharks.

you can also add a few other "LEADING" banks
why only std chortered?
all these shylocs should be kicked out of this country
the standered practice is they do not send the statements regularly and after a gap add interest on the payments made by you and "late fee"

You are absolutely right. In my case, while Pvt banks are falling over each other to make me take that housing loan, the first public sector bank I went to, turned down my request. Never thought of going back there again...

Tempting offers but...
by raghavendra on Mar 23, 2007 01:00 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I do agree that it is a great move by bank of india, i was ofeered a loan by ICICI which i gleefully accepted and still i am paying it back thru my credit card , i am unbale to preclose it as the bill gets generated along with my credit card statement and the bank is just awaiting as to when i make a late payment or default it s o that it can make a fast buck. The point i want to make is none of the banks should not send a cheque/offer letter to someone whom they think is a good borrower, and if anyone needs a loan there should be a signed letter requesting for the same to the banks.

Pls call ur call centre and ask for foreclosure amount on a prefixed that. You would get the amount with total details. Pay it accordingly and you would see that the loan is closed. Please do not foreget to take ref no. every time you call a call centre of any bank.

Corrupt banks
by Parveen Kalia on Mar 23, 2007 12:52 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Rather than starting couselling services for customers, they should think of running ethical training classes for their own employees including managers who have just switched over to total cheating methodoligies now a days. Also required is make a strong and quick redressal body whom customer can approach easily and get fair and speedy solutions. Banks once found commiting faults should be treated with extreme harshness comprising of heavy multiple compensations to customers and penalties on bank. I am saying so because its never easy to fight with banks on everyday basis and its not the only job customers have in their day to day life.
