This is not possible unless you sign the Automatic pay form. If you are not been informed regarding this, please raise a complaint. Still if you dont get resonable reply threaten them that you will close the account as well as credit card.

Reg: My ICICI Bank Gold Credit Card
by Guest on May 28, 2009 10:11 AM  Permalink

Sir,

My name is S.R. Shylaja from Chennai. This is regarding my Gold Credit Card which I was using of ICICI bank's for one year. I had closed my Card of going for a full and final settlement in 2008 with the payment amount of Rs. 27500/- in one of the Credit Card Division of ICICI branch in Chennai which was told by one of a ICICI Bank representative to do so.
I came to know from one of my source that my name is in the CIBIL with the status for ICICI Bank - Credit Card. After going for the full and final settlement I want to know the reason for what they had put my name in the CIBIL. I want them to remove my name from CIBIL or give me the details for the further process to go about it. Awaiting for your responses.

by Venkatesh Kanale on Mar 06, 2009 06:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is wrt to HSBC credit card payment what I have. The due date was 03-Mar-2009, cheque date was 02-Mar-2009, and I droped the cheque into HSBC drop box on 27-Feb-2009. They presnted cheque to bank for collection (ICICI Bank) on 28-Feb-2009 and it's dishonoured stating reqson 'Post Dated Cheque'. When i reached HSBC cust care, they said They dont look into the cheq date, instead the seld it for collection as soon as they recieve the cheq (irrespective of cheq date). Is it legal to present a post dated cheq before it's face date?

you are supposed to write the date same as the date when you dropped the cheque in HSBC drop box. I dont find any reason why did it like that. It is not illegal, but you will face problems for this.

Service Tax on EMI of Personal Loan from Credit Card providers
by Guest on Jan 31, 2009 01:32 PM  Permalink

Sir,
I was given a Per Loan On my SBI credit card. On perusal of the monthly statements I found that they were charging Service charge on my EMI at 12.4 persent. I took up the matter with Head cards SBI Credit Card Section. They insist that as per Govt orders i am liable to pay Service tax at 12.36% and quoted the extract below as authority. In the quote below it may be seen that EMI is not included as a taxable service. Pl clearify.

2.2 Credit card services

2.2.1 This is a service where the customer is provided with credit facility for purchase of goods and services in shops, restaurants, hotels, railway bookings, petrol pumps, utility bill payments, etc. Cash advances are also permitted up to specified limits in most of the cases. This service is provided by nationalized banks, multi-national banks and private banks.

2.2.2 For rendering the service, the service provider collects joining fee, additional card fee, annual fee, replacement card fee, cash advance fee, charge slip/statement retrieval fee, surcharge/service charges on railway fare, fuel charges, and utility bill payments, charges on over limit accounts and late payment fee, interest on delayed payment, interest on revolving credit, etc. The fees may vary based on the type of card and from bank to bank. All these charges, including interest charges are made for the services rendered. Hence they all form part of the value of the taxable service in this case

fee
by Guest on Dec 29, 2008 05:10 PM  Permalink

My father have credit card from a reputed bank in kerala. The bank has charged around Rs.2400 instead of the interest Rs.600. This Rs.2400 includes late payment fee, service tax, interest, overlimit fee etc. My question is 1) The bank has the right to impose overlimit fee if the customer swipe more than available balance? eg; Suppose the customer swiping Rs 7500 when the available balance is 7600. Bank will pass it and charging the over limit fee of Rs.500. Why the bank cant deny the tracsacton? 2) I have called to the customer care numbers to talk regarding tis issue. They numbers are shown back side of the card. 5 Numbers are does not exist and 3 are not picking up. Is it againt the human rights?
Expects your reply at the earliest and thanks for this facility.

ICICI unreasonable ways of charging
by Balakrishnan Elangovan on Oct 15, 2008 05:49 PM  Permalink

I have taken a personal loan from ICICI in Oct.05 to clear card outstanding of Rs.69,000 and paid entire amount. The loan was fixed for 18 EMI with processing fee waiver offer. Iinstead of one loan, the bank wrongly credited two personal loans in my ICICI account with a gap 3 days time. Having noticed i made complaint to the person sanctioned the loan and informed ICICI, through several mails to collect it from me, but no response. I had nil balance except payment of EMI for one loan, but ICICI kept on adding EMI, interest for wrong loan. Within 5 months outstanding become 1 lakh. I was paying more money toward EMI, without knowing actual EMI, that too ICICI failled to sent the schedule of payment to me, even after so many reminders. One fine day they foreclosed loans and shown that i owe ICICI bank 1.88 lakhs as outstanding, and sent demand notice through lawyer. I sent suitable reply with proofs showing the wrong credit of second loan and unreasonable accumulation of huge amount as outstanding in July 2006.Till date the bank did not bothered to give any reply. They also collected back Rs.90,000 from my account indicating bankers lien. Also ICICI foreclosed of two personal loans & converted EMI payment as credit card outstanding.I completed my 18 months EMI payment without any stop. Now ICICI approaching to give Rs.61,000 towards outstanding. Pls suggest can i approach ombudsman for filing the grievance for longterm solution or write to bank and file it after 2-3 weeks,
