DEAR SIR I WAS HAVING A CREDIT CARD AND DUE TO LOSS OF JOB I WAS UNABLE TO PAY THERE DUES ON TIME AND AFTER THAT BANK OFFERED A SETTLEMENT OF THE CARD AND I WILLINGLY ACCEPTED IT.WHICH WAS IN 9 EMIS AND I PAID ALL THE EMI.BUT BANK CHARGED ALL THE CHARGES LIKE LATE FEE,OVERLIMIT FEE AND FINANCE CHARGES ON MY ACCOUNT DURING THESE 9 MONTHS. I WANT TO KNOW THAT IS IT OK AS PER LAW. AS THEY REPORTED MY CARD SETTLED TO CIBIL.AS NOW I WANT TO CLEAR THE STATUS OF CIBIL BANK IS DEMANDING THE AMOUNT AFTER ALL THE CHARGES AND IT HAS BECOME MORE THEN THE OUTSTANDING ON WHICH CARD WAS SETTLED.AM I BOUND TO PAY THAT AMOUNT WHICH IS GREATER THEN THE AMOUNT ON WHICH SETTLEMENT DONE EVEN AFTER PAYING ALL THE SETTLEMENT AMOUNT. am having Standard Chartered credit card. My credit card no is 4541982339219732. I have not made any transactions, but still they have charged me. I did not receive any sms alert from them regarding the same. I saw these transactions only when I was checking my payment status, which I made through icici bank net banking for Rs 2270. All the transaction was related with electricity department dated 11/01/2011 located at Mumbai. My card limit was Rs 77000 and the total transaction they have mentioned is Rs 86313. I did not request them for increase the credit limit. After seeing these transactions, I informed the bank about these transactions and they have sent a dispute form. Later on they replied me saying that these are valid transactions and I need to pay. I want them to stop/cancel these payment & investigate who did those payments since I have not made any such payments and I will not pay them.

Hi, I just wanted to know if Credit card dept can take huge amount from your savings account without even informing the customer. Incase customer has over due. Is it right. I understand if they warn you before taking it towards over due.
i was using an ICICI bank credit card and on august 29 2008 i got a message for a purchase of airline tickets with Jet airways, which was not done by me. as I was sure that i didnt made any such transaction, I immediateley called the ICICI customer care and blocked the card. They have given a complaint reference number SR77805512. i have send the complaint to the bank as a Fax, includeing all the details. After two days when i called the customer care i got a reply like Bank will go for an enquiry on my complaint and once finished if they found i only made the transaction i have to take responsibility of it else i dont have to pay anything. After that i didnt got any update from the bank and whenver i call the customer care i got a reply "We will update you soon". Every month i am getting bills where the outstanding amount is increasing with fine for non payment. On mar 9th bank have blocked my savings account balance. I have reciieved a notice also. Please tell me what i have to do in this situation. Why should i pay around 22000 for the transaction which was not done by me and even after registering the complaint to the bank on time.

I have HSBC credit card. During the time of applying they said that the card carry no annual maintenance fee, infact that is the reason why i have applied for the card. But they have charged me the annual maintenance. So, i finally decided not to pay the amount. Now they are calling me asking me to pay 3860/-. And they are sending people, trying manhandle the customer and get the money. It is looking somekind of malpractice the bank has adopted. Please advice me.
Hi, my name is neeraj/m/42. 6 years ago, I lost my father and my wife in a gap of 2 months. At this point of time I was using standard chartered card with near perfect payment record. After losing 2 family members I was required to undergo counselling for 6 months with a psychiatrist. I shut down my busines overnight and took up a job for one a half years. during this period, naturally my payments went awry and they, very kindy gave me an extension WITHOUT any follow up. After a few years, I was able to get back on my feet and we reached a lumpsum settlement with SCB to which they issued a letter too. But They have either put my name on the defaulters list or not taken my name of the defaulters list with CIBIL. Please advise. Repeated phone call to them have heeded little response other than "please pay balance amount in full". How can they demand this when a settlement has been reached.
sir iiam chandru i have swape rs 30000 and now i lost my job and iam unable to pay my ceritcard but now the bank peoples says your outstanding is rs 75000 and giving more distribance.
Hi, I have a salary account & credit of the same bank. I want to know that can any bank put a lein on a Salary account for outstanding credit card payment without informing the customer in any form. Also please suggest ways to deal with such occurrences. Your replies will be highly appreciated.

This is not possible unless you sign the Automatic pay form. If you are not been informed regarding this, please raise a complaint. Still if you dont get resonable reply threaten them that you will close the account as well as credit card.
