Discourage use of private vehicles; the only private vehicles allowed should be bicycles. Develop cheap and efficient public transport systems, efficiency in the areas of frequency, comfort and punctuality.These public transport systems should run on clean bio fuel and nuclear energy (nuclear energy should be the first preference).Air conditioners should be replaced by some cleaner technologies may be coolers. Plant more trees, discourage use of plastics. The government should bring strict policies and laws for the companies which pollute land water and air for example the company,which pollutes the river or lakes, should me held responsible and should be made to clean them at their own cost. The greatest solution is the use of nuclear energy,which is abundance and clean. To use it first terrorism should be completely extradited from the face of earth and then use of only nuclear energy should be made mandatory for all countries. There are many more solutions but the catch is they should be implemented immediatly. Although, it is already late, lets hope that instead of dying today,it will be delayed for sometime and if a miracle happens then at least our children and grand children will be able enjoy a clean and healthier environment. All should contribute,the rich and poor alike. sustainable development is the only way forward. given the lack of governance in India, it'd be a wonder if we have any leaders who are doing anything constructive , this is seriously affecting the growth and also ruining our environment.
Just look back our grand-fathers who lived life so peacefully and healthy. The present humans are not humans, they are spoiling everything on earth believing they will live 100 yrs. Believe we are not going to live more than 30 years, see nowdays young people are getting heart attacks. Information Technology is worst industries and the root cause for global warming. We should ride cycles instead of bikes and bikes instead of cars. Cars instead of flight then we can save the globe.
when whole country is in problem are we forcing country go developed and ruin thousands of people from their basic needs. After all what is development doing it is making only rich richer and ruining the health on other side . India has its obligation and cannot escape by quoting per capita value as we are hugely populated but then we need be taking any responsibility....western world polluted the whole environment and developed and now when we are they want us to stop emission ...they should give us full access to nuclear power and there own industries GE for example should come clean and not work against development and research on renewable energy..they are playing with environment and not we ....we need to develop and need energy otherwise we will be ever slaves
and other rich nations will be finally forced to give into India and Chinas demand for transferring clean energy technologies virtually free of cost, because without such technologies India and China will be putting ever greater amounts of C02 into the atmosphere and that is going to affect all of us on earth. Climate Change is really a boon in disguise for developing countries like India and China.

you have to realize that climate change is basically caused by rich nations, they developed and industrialized before India and China etc. All those extra CO2 in the air has the signature of rich countries. Both China and India will never agree to any cuts unless Western countries donate their clean energy technologies to us, because it is a global issue and it affects all of us.
I agree with the views of Gandhiji that India should have more emphasis on small Towns rather than making big cities bigger. Quality of Life is getting worse in Big towns. Our Pvt.and Govt sector should promote Small Better planned Towns with good railway,road,telecom and employement and ofcourse restriction on town limits. I feel this can reduce pollution,cost of living and quality of life too.
