In his book, Wings of Fire, President Kalam writes about his vision for a developed India by the year 2020. One of the key methods of achievingthis, according to him, is what he refers to as PURA - Providing Urban amenities in Rural Areas. Thus, 'gramas' would turn into 'puras', he says. The move being taken by BPO firms to establish their operations also from India's smaller towns is a fulfilment of President Kalam's vision, to a certain extent. Although the companies seek to make this move for probably better profits, India's towns and their surrounding villages are poised for good growth.

kalam is a visionerry..no poltician can match him. we need more kalams..then 2020 is very soon happen otherwise that will happen only in 20200!
With Hubli being second largest city in Karnataka and Commercial Hub of North Karnataka. This city has the potential to become next IT Hub in Karnataka. Hubli have many good collages both engineering and non-engineeing collage.

Agreed but if i look at STPI near VRL office its too bad just 4 floor is not enough.
Gulbarga being the Divisional Head Quarter,Education center and Business center will be the one of the suitable place for starting BPO's. It has large talented student community,which can be a useful resource.
Indeed it is a very welcome sign. After all majority of the younger generation are having their primary education in rural areas and coming for their higher studies to cities. They will have more love to work in rural areas if an opportunities are provided.
i am very happy to learn that finally something good is happening in rural india.
if people wud hv focussed on big cities [ i am myself from mumbai ] then it wud always lead to overcrowing and higher rentals and higher cost of living,in big cities and also deprevation for smaller places.
this is better.
the smaller towns get more opportunities,and due to the lower oevrhead and cost the rising rupee which is dulling india's export advantage will be nullifyed.
also,due to the focus shifting away from big cities the entire country will get more evn growth and prosperity.
BPO industry can find good quality talent in villages also. whereever infrastructures are available in villages, unemployed people must be given opportunity in bpos. Instead of waiting for big industries' arrival, bpo will be good means of their living.
