by mahesh gupta on Jul 08, 2007 07:59 PM  Permalink

A close look will reveal that Indian degrees have been accredited and not Indian education sytem, that also means reservation on various accounts curcomventing merrit. Will USA apply the reservations while accepting students forhigher studies or employment.Or else pure merrit willprevail?

Technology and stone age
by Piyush Bhargava on Jul 08, 2007 07:03 PM  Permalink

Despite the talk of internet and high technology,Our Educational Institutes are still living in Stone age.Students are asked to fill their admission forms online and then asked to submit them personely. What kind of logic is this.I am talking of Engineering colleges in Maharashtra.Students and their parents have to go 2-3 times and have to be present physically.E mails go unanswered and nobody picks up the phone.THese days we can give examinations online like BITS Pilani and yet some Institutes still insist on being present physically. Will the degrees from these colleges be accredited in USA

Whoever has been posting here like fake ,bogus etc should be thrown out of india,It is a simple commonsense that indian youths have more knowladge compared to other coutries this shows that our education system is better and who the hell US is to talk about our standards these western coutries have made education as international business.

If our education is the best , why are we still a third world nation? Why is poverty still so rampant? Come to the US and see how people live and behave and respect the establishment. And then make this comment. Education ...my AS**S

If you guys are so great, then why are you all flocking to the US for higher studies? The whole world is rushing to the US for higher studies!
Also, how can the world recognize India's Engg.degrees as long as we give them out free to the OBCs, MBCs, BCs without any merit?

That's true, but the only difference is that OBC, SC, ST need to get just 35% where as FC has to get 99% or more to get a decent admission.

It is not because of education our country have so many poor people. it is because of our culture, behaviour and attitude. we are not deserve to live that standard according to our mentality, we are lazy in many things, we don't have our own standard, we are shameless people worst by nature. so we need to suffer for our demerits. we don't have good people in the head position to lead our country in a successfull path. so don't blame on others first try to find reason and blame ourselves for our failure. because no body can make u fail unless u do it yourself. So guys grow up and see the facts that for our failures we are the responsible people not others.

Agree with you, but one thing I want to add is we do have good people and occasionally they are at the helm of affairs, but they don't last long. This is because others pull them down very fast. A perfect example would be our former election commissioner T.N. Sheshan.

BenchMark For Useless Techies!!!!!!
by geela parul on Jul 06, 2007 11:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

And very soon this recognition too........

There are less kindergarten schools in India
compared to number of engineering colleges.

Imagine all those bogus degrees getting
international recognition.

Very soon we will become the benchmark
for inefficient technologists!!!!

BRAVO!!!!!!!

Government now should have its own filter
for institutions which the international
fraternity should look forward too.

Our Education far better than thiers!
by Ram on Jul 06, 2007 12:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I don't understand why the provisional accredition is given in 2007 ? Why not 2006 or even before or even in 1990 itself. For thier own selfish reasons they are giving the accredition and we are proud that our education system became better and best ....The very first university "NALANDA" had been created by us and exposed to the world the concept of college and university, today we have been accreditied by Foreginers...! its shame of our nation which failed to show our power to the world of our real assets! VEDAS the richest and highest value of knowledge holding by us, we failed to show our real power and how many of us today know sanskrit and vedas or even interested to know what it contains ??? FAKE PRIDE AND SLAVERY ACT WOULD NEVER LEAD US TO LEAD THE WORLD!

Indian Engineering degree recogined in the UK
by Manish C C on Jul 06, 2007 06:44 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Does dthat also mean that AICT in India will not recognise the US degrees in India as ever action has equal n opposite reaction.Let me remind you-it could be either very difficult Or too easy to obtain degree in the US as there are several ways to get a degree in the US i.e. online degree which is not really distinguished from full time classroom attendence.
I wonder wat could be te implecation of this in India.

hello evryone there... i had a question:
Are all types of Engineering degrees valid in the US? Here in India we have a system of getting an Engineering degree via distance education i.e. AMIE(http://www.indiaeducation.info/Engineering/Entrance-Exams/AMIE/).
It would be really great news for hardworking students of this stream to get global recognition.

u maybe right. widows do not die like dogs anymore. but even today women are manhandled in every local bus and train. every year from siliguri district 30,000 young girls aged 9-10 are kidnapped and sold as sex slaves. and that is just one town. women in india are still burnt for dowry, female infanticides still prevail and women are abused sexually anywhere -- be it beaches of Juhu or even the latest at delhi. Many things need to be changed.

though women are educated and working, there is a long way for us indians to go when it comes to real liberation and freedom. now lets wait for hypocritical, male chauvenists to deny all the facts mentioned.

everything is same - politicians installing their children, movie stars promoting their children, businessmen appointing their children etc.

whenever a family heirarchy develops it shows merit is decreasing.

ps: george bush father/son is a rare occurance in USA.

educational system is also not merit oriented. when USA has 70% of the top universities and sucks up all the best brains including einstein, how can they be matched in R & D ?

you dont have to lick russian or american boots if you encourage merit instead of mediocrity.

how come german & japan with zero natural resources are so advanced ? because they encourage merit which leads to superior R & D and innovation and thus their products are in greatest demand worldwide.

There is no distinction in Tax what US citizen pays and what a non-immigrant worker pays. Infact it is less than what is charged in India by dumb finance minister Chidambaram. Also over all tax is way less than India so non-immigrants end up saving a lot even from the "peanuts".
