Our association with the TATAS started around 1907 when jAMSHETJI STARTED THE STEEL PROJECT. mY MATERNAL GRANDFATHER it is believed then bacame his selling agent in this part of India.Birla and Tata were always the inspiration for a long list of Indian businessmen because they led the others by example.Later on JRD started Tata Airlines and one of my close relative was personnel officer at one of his branches. Tata Group has always taken part in activities of nation building and their contribution is not limited to Industry alone. I wish a very happy and healthy life for Mr Ratan TAta and I do hope that his group will definetely succeed in their work.There is no doubt that in CSR, TAta Group is ahead of meny Industrial houses around the world.They do present our values to the outside world.
I am really pleased to know its Ratan Tata's Birthday.Management is here and now not then and there.TATA is a BIG BRAND to reckon with in India.I wish them to carry on the good work at HR,Productivity,Efficiency,Effectiveness,TQM,Benchmarking,Business process re-ingineering-BPR and giving the Custome a delight with a successfull one lakh rupee car.

I pray Almighty God to give you a very long life with full of fitness and enthusiasm with which you have lived till now. Your name is so popular that even children nowadays learn your name as the first word to speak. "Tata". May many more people like you (jewels) be adorned by our bharath mata.
This is the first time I am expressing myself on this Board. It is really a nice feeling to associate yourself with such a towering personality of Ratan Tata. I was myself posted in Cuttack, and had the occasion to visit the iron ore mines of Barbil, etc. as also the Sukhinda valley. As a competitor TISCO was an ideal employer doing lots of social service around. Again at Paradip Port, had occasion to interact with reps of TATA empire and it was a source of inspiration to do better. Again in Delhi, Indore, Ahmedabad etc. he has been a source of inspiration for bettering the performance. Almighty GOD should send more such result oriented souls to our beloved India.

He is a real SAINT - a down to earth towering personality ( like Banyan Tree) who has come to the world to give shelter to havenots and hence reforms the lives of million and millon people with his untiring professional efforts and social reforms approach in mind!
I have ac hance to meet him and can say in one line - He is the only Chrismatic and Gentle Business personality in today's Materilaistic world !

May be for the first time I can see the positive postings for most of the messages which is unlikely scene on rediff discussion board.
