club mahindra is unreliable and is spoiling the mahindra brand.. my request to others wanting to explore the time share , be very careful.. none of the existing players in india are reliable.. the sterling properties are of poor quality the country club guys appear to be thugs out to make a quick buck and club mahindra scheme is a customer fleecing scheme.. apart from the upfront payment of lacs that you end up paying them, one also has to pay a sum of about 10000 every year ( as annual maintenance ) .. so be very careful enter this club at your own risk and choice. There are no refunds and the terms and conditions are heavily loaded in favour of the promoters.. there is no customer focus .. the sales guy would not respond after the first sales and the customer service people would refer you to the fine print of terms and conditions and not offer any service. there are no refunds and it is a money making racket.. be very careful

i do not think Club Mahindra is running a racket. But they hire marketing agents to sell the timeshare and these agents hide and conceal the cost and other charges to lure client. Club Mahindra should be held responsible for the actions of such agents I would rather pay the full amount and stay at the Hotel without any booking ristrictions Besides there are many sites available to book hotels which offer 30 40 % discounts. Working in the marketing field I would advice people to stay away from timeshare schemes. Rahul Daswani Mumbai

Club Mahindra holidays are fun-packed, offering unique experiences for every member in the family.
I have holidayed in Coorg, Goa, Munnar & Binsar. All the resorts are excellent! Luxurious rooms, kids meal options, super rates on dining and holiday activities make this membership great value for money. I look forward to many more happy holidays in India and abroad.

I am also Victim of CCIL, initially I am told the membership is refundable, but now while asking for refund, they do no respond at all. Very poor review on CCIL.
This is a trap, stay away. Nothing comes for free and here they make sure you pay double the cost what you can buy in market
i became a member in late september & was assured 3nights holiday in malaysia as a joining incentive (totally free of cost) rs4000 dining voucher,rs 5000 shopping voucher,6n at club mahindra, etc.but on reaching kl nobody was there 2 pik-up for 2hrs,the hotels were changed at 11th hour, none of these vouchers were given & now these people are untraceble, while club mahindra office have not responded to my compliant.i want a complete refund of whatever amount is remaining, what is the best & sure way rahul j. bhatt

yes.. agree with you.. club mahindra is unreliable and is spoiling the mahindra brand.. my request to others wanting to explore the time share , be very careful.. none of the existing players in india are reliable.. the sterling properties are of poor quality the country club guys appear to be thugs out to make a quick buck and club mahindra scheme is a customer fleecing scheme.. apart from the upfront payment of lacs that you end up paying them, one also has to pay a sum of about 10000 every year ( as annual maintenance ) .. so be very careful enter this club at your own risk and choice
Does any body is aware about the contacts of SAFAL HOLIDAY RESORTS OR raigad resort office in Vashi sector 17.
I personally had gone to their office in ARENJA CORNER A WING VASHI SECTOR 17 but always found locked. I have paid 10000/- & was promised 20000/- after 5 years. Now no body available. Kindly reply if any one of you have information about SAFAL HOLIDAY RESORT or Raigad resort. THANKS
In the fifth year i requested my relatives to go to 'the resort' which is in mumbai so that travelling will not be required. Eventually they also got bored on the third day morning and returned with disgust. May be it happened with me and your case can be different.
Thank u for giving us an insight in to the working of the so called time share holidays. There used to be one BISON COUNTY resorts in kerala started with much fanfare and siphoned away crores from gulliable people. Moreover please note that most of the places where these resorts have been located are ecologically fragile areas and most of these glossy buildings in the midst of the jungles are illegal structures causing irreparable damage to the ecology. Club resort's in kerala are a classic example. Steps which were on to demolish them by the present kerala govt were effectively scuttled thanks to the money power these resorts weild. Let us not unknowingly contribute to this illegal activity and help these white collar robbers to make money at our expense and at the expense of our environment.

well said.. yes.. most resorts would also be unaccessible and one would end up paying a bounty to reach the areas where these are located.
I have been aClub Mahindra Member since 1999 and enjoyed vacationing with them for the last 8 years. I WOULD LIKE TO STRONGLY OBJECT TO THE ARTICLE AND THE VIEWS THEREAFTER. While taking my membership, I was explained all the finer points by their Employee. There were no hidden surprises later on. Before going in to a contract with them one should understand the finer points. One thing is certain, the membership is not for people not used to finer things in life and take extra services and amenities for granted, that too without paying for it. In short it is not for freeeloaders who would take things for granted and later on blame others for extra payments and hidden costs.

The article is correct, I was not showed the terms and conditions when I asked for it. For the prof. in the article it was the same thing. He just cut a cheque. I didn't. i preferred to buy a car instead. Why cant we insist of deals based on principles of good faith? Why the deceit in a 20 years relationship? You liked it, maybe I would have liked it too but why not the terms and conditions at the start?

basically it is for people who can afford a few lacs of investment and not bother about it.. I am not a free loader, but yes if they are targetting a niche segment, then they need to keep their promises/commitments as well. the first and foremost problem with them is they are overselling themselves and that is creating a proble; and their tie up with RCI is a big black hole.. RCI would have resorts available at a particular place and time but not for club mahindra members .. and so why do they sell something which is riddled with lacunaes and which they cannot keep ? Secondly, yes..some of their properties are good, but then they are at remote areas far away from the main city/tourist spot that they promise..eg Binsar is 25 kms from almora, munnar resorts is 14 kilometers from munnar ; and so they are fleecing and selling by speaking half truths.. if they were not then the should come out with full facts upfront and not thru fine print?

Well said mate! I agree with you. They speak HALF TRUTHS for showing large savings to customers. If you make adjustment for all the factors(e.g. consider future value of your lump sump money, yearly charges, inconvenient locations, limited options, Qulaity of Service, risks on investment [Especially in India] etc) While the truth is that you do not save more than 10-15% per holiday trip. Mate this is not at all WIN-WIN concept in India.
I wonder if someone can help me trace Suman Motels. I joined the scheme in Mumbai, many years ago by paying Rs 100000. As per the agreement I am to get back Rs 150000 after the first five years, on surrender of Membership. After coming to Delhi, I sent letters to thier known addresses, with no response. Any idea how to reach them and get back the money?
2.5 lakh rupees one gives initially would amount to roughly 30000 per year over a 25 year period taking into amount the lost interest & principal. On top of that they want 15-20000 rupees as maintenance fees (This keeps rising every year). So, we are basically talking of paying 50000 per year for a 7-day holiday. You decide if it's worth it or not. The 2nd & more important part is that you would never get booking out there at the resort at the time you want. When do we take holidays? During summer vacations or Dussera or some other similar time when children have holidays, we dont have to meet our annual targets urgently or when we want to escape the heat or the cold. These are the times when you will find that you cant get your vacations. You would be offered a vacation in summer in Rajasthan or in winter at some hill station. Take your pick on whether you find it worth
Club Mahindra has invited me twice on the pretext of me having 'won' a 2-nights-3-days stay package, but would never give me the voucher. Why, I dont want the product.

well said.. completely agree with you. I have burnt my fingers.. and so I know.. you are a smart guy
Most of the timeshare members have genral complain of non availablity of accomodation on their preferred dates. In this context i would suggest that every timeshare company should have online booking facility showing all available cottages/apartments in their every resort. With that, on click of a button, a member can book his accomodation and will always be satisfied.

Behind every online system, there will be a human being, an employee of the timeshare company who can easily hide from you, the true facts about available dates.
RE:Transperancy

This does not solve the problem. Transparency does not come from system when there is no intent. It does not take much to block periods in system.
