get some facts and figures before giving such crappy statement...any person in his right senses would not directly covert the salaries pain in dollars to INR...grapes are sour we all know...but u need not show it..give these guys their due credit
Guys at the top get the big money, to get the job done by others.Somebody junior sweats it out, and these CEOs get the accolades.I am sure the difference between CEOs'salary and his next-in-command will be more than 60%.What's the logic!?I think 40-60% of their earnings should be distributed to the team working for him.Afterall, a boss is only as good as his suordinates

at the top u r supposed to be the leader with experience..u r paid for ur leadership qualities and ur exp..u r not supposed to slog it out which is supposed to be done by ur team...this happens in every industry
a fair world. Instead of cribbing please study MBA at IIMs/ISB and try to earn like them. Society only rewards certain professions. For eg a best teacher would never get a salary close to any best performing CEOs and if you look at it, both of them have a equally large role to play in society.

not exactly, less than 40% CEOs have MBAs. If you really want to be the CEO, think out of the box and start a start up. In fact many CEOs are sons of wealthy fathers, dont feel so bad.
the above article says that ICIC has 5 officials earning more than 1 r. compare this with the salary of the Largest Nationalized bank. The poor chap doesnt gets more than 5-6 la without perks and under 10 la including all perks
What is breathtaking about this? many filmsters earn similar amout from a single movie. Highest individual tax payer is a bollywood actor.Even some of our IAS officer's actual income ( not by govt. salary ) will be much more.

interesting observation. Moreover those unethical filmstars make a hell lot of black money, so dont believe the figures they show the IT dept.
It is a known fact that CEO's are paid as long as they deliver. In most cases , it is a zero tolerance policy on performance. Many a CEO's bend the rule to meet the annual targets & also get their FAT pay cheques. It is not all bed of roses for every one at top and many a CEO are victims of serious health problems.
We have glaring examples like Enron , Worldcom etc in USA , whose CEO's are behind bars for Fraud. Unfortunately in India , corruption is an accepted phenomena and big businesses happen when street smart guys can manipulate things to happen. Everyone knows about the Integrity of Reliance or L&T or Lanco .. But it does not matter in India. The CEO's get a part of the booty. We have very few Narayana Murthy's in this country or rather only 1

And pray why do you think Murthy is ethical? Infy is one of the lowest paying Software Cos around for junior employees so that they can boost their profits. But Murthy >>> Ambanis. Id put Tata as the one with most credibility

Infy pays the market rates and believe me their HR policies are far better than any other company..if anyone has any problem with the salary paid by INfy then they can just move to some other company..the demand is more than supply...so instead of cribbing and cursing move on if u have capability...as u can find many other IT cos so can Infy fing many SEs like u..atleast due to Infys and TCS and Wipros so many enggs are now getting job...had the scenario been like the one before globalization 60% of the engineers would have been jobless now
No doubt India has produced so many highly paid CEOs and now its time for us to produce rice, wheat, edibles ,clothing ,furniture etc.etc. all made up of GOLD ,Diamonds and precious stones for the consumption of these princes so that some how they can spend their fortune and enjoy since they can't carry their wealth along with them when they left this world for ever.THIS IS A VANITY.
But they should also participate in the overall development of India. They should help the needy people in any way they can by their moral support or money support.

Thats what they pay the tax and what you have said is the work of the government. Because they have the power. Why dont you question the governments instead.

GANESH IT FEES NICE TO GIVE LECTIRES TO OTHERS SAYING WHAT TO DO. ARE YOU DOING THAT AND IF YOU ARE SO COMMITTED WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE TO YOU WHETHER THESE CEO PARTICIPATE IN THE OVERALL DEVELOPMENT OF THE COUNTRY OR NOT.

Yes good to hear abt the success of Indian CEO's. But do they think of their team members down the line. They are being exploited & being underpaid. God knows what will happen next
RE:Keep it up
by ritwick sanyal on Apr 30, 2007 03:07 PM Permalink
today in this market if u have capability then u have plenty of options in the market..so u can shift..no one is stopping u from shifting if u feel u r being exploited. a person would only accept exploitation as long as he is incapable
This is Good as this CEO's have moved india to a NEw Horizon. But I still feel that Employees (I mean Team Members) who actuall do the Work rather then Manage are paid much less.
RE:Have ur Say ???
by ritwick sanyal on Apr 30, 2007 03:08 PM Permalink
Team members are like sheep who needs to be guided and the CEO is the shepherd..now u know why the CEO is paid so much...they are supposed to be leaders and they are getting paid for their years of exp...their responsibility is much more than that of a single team member..thats why they are paid more
