Airtel or Hutch who cares!
by ashruti on Feb 17, 2006 03:53 PM  Permalink

Airtel, Hutch/BPL, Reliance, BSNL/MTNL, Tata, Idea, Aircel, Spice or Shyam......who cares!
the subscriber may be with the operator because of brand, promotion, tariff, network coverage, network quality or customer care. But, what lies beyond being paticular about any of the above factors is that we have the option of chucking any of them for the other. the "power of communication" is not with airtel or with any other operator, rather it lies with consumer. If I compare it with the scenario 10 years back, where we had to wait even to disconnect our connection, we are in heaven!!!!!!
Customer is truely the king is todays telecom industry in India, when these complaints of ours are not only heard but worked upon. Otherwise what else would explain the CEO of one of these cellular service provider calling customer care pretending to be a subscriber or a prospect!
we can have any colour as long as it is red, green, blue, orange, pink

by Rajesh manne on Jan 17, 2006 10:26 AM  Permalink

Hutch provides better customer care than Airtel. I was an Airtel customer before later i switched to hutch most of the students are ready to take hutch than Airtel. Coming to coverage Airtel is best when in roaming i used to have more coverage form Airtel than hutch is providing now to me.

In tariff airtel is still not suitable to go. If any body asks me i prefers HUTCH....

Yes, there billing is always wrong. I have received 5 bills untill now & ALL wrong. Worst it is you who have to follow for rectification.
Worst of all is that even there MAJOR ACCOUNT MANAGER will not help you in getting it rectified.
So now I have switched to Hutch .. lets see if it works...

really whereever you go hutch follows but airtel cannot.
by hitesh on Jan 05, 2006 06:02 PM  Permalink

if we look at the coverage allover the state or india hutch is better as compared to Airtel.with my experience i shall always prefer hutch. airtel has good network in cities or i say in metroes but not on highway or at some lone place while hutch has good network at there also. even in cities there are some places where airtel network is weak, the reason may be the density of users, but it is also company's responsibility that they need to take care. which is not the case in hutch now, lets see who will lead in future.

The Winner Should Be.......
by Mayur on Jan 05, 2006 04:23 PM  Permalink

In any Brand fight the winner should always be the Consumer...The consumer is the one who identifies himself with the Dog in Hutch , The orange [ now pink ] colors of Hutch and with the unbeatable AR tunes of Airtel...It would be a fair fight only when the consumer is the winner.

Airtel is the winner
by Abhishek Tandon on Jan 05, 2006 12:21 PM  Permalink

Airtel is provding better services and coverage then Hutch. Also Hutch guys are very blunt and doesn't care for customers.

if hutch will not take of there customers, they will loose the market like nething and I m the most frustated customer of Hutch. From last seven months I m using this bloody service and after n numbers of calls they are not taking ne action against my problem while my other number of airtel is working fine.

If u r going to purchase a new connection then go 4 Airtel.

Airtel Customer Support -- Horror Stories
by Gurpreet Singh on Jan 05, 2006 11:27 AM  Permalink

Hello,

We have been customers for Hutch for years now ... very satisfied, got various connections from them, however, whenever we have tried Airtel, we have had got the worst of support, and at times, we have not got support at all, worst of all, the last time, and Airtel Exec, collected payment from us for a new connection, delivered us a SIM card, but Airtel says they never received the payment, and they are not interested to track the executive, even though they can using the SIM Card, which was given to us.

Hence, Airtel is best avoided.

Thanks,

GP

Airtel v/s Hutch
by Parijat Misra on Jan 05, 2006 09:59 AM  Permalink

I am an Airtel user and use it simply because its Airtel. Also, wherever I am in India, my window always shows Airtel.
As far as customer orientation is concerned, none can touch Hutch. They are in a totally different league but my need is accesibilty and reach.
I have my wife and son using Hutch and they swear by it but that is probably because of the percieved brand value.
If you ask me and if we go tech neutral in the mobile telephony space, it should be Airtel v/s Reliance. There you are comparing two service providers with comparable subscriber base, reach et all.
And there, Airtel wins hands down. True Reliance took away the mystique of mobiles and made it affordable for everybody to own by setting standards (price) and constantly lowering the entry barrier, but this was done at the cost of service. I used a Reliance too, but gave up in disgust!
For me, its Airtel all the way!
