Its all very well to talk abt gettin parity with private sector but where is the money. The government is not sititng on piles of cash. The government should think abt this.
Pay revision is essention considering present conditions. Income tax slabs should also be revised proportionately. There is large difference between govt and pvt sector pay structures. Consider just prices of essetial commodities, petrol, cost of education for children. Its very difficult to manage the household budget. In every aspect Govt employee is targetted interms of tax, prices etc.
there is hue and cry denouncing the setting up of the pay panel. when the salaries and perks of private sector is increasing manifold because of liberalisation the govt employees cannot be left behind. if the govt does not pay who will pay?
What luxury for the so-called servants of the public, to decide on the 6th Pay Commission, spelling economic ruin for India, in one swift power mad stroke. SHAME on YOU MANMOHAN SINGH, socalled architect of Indian economic turnaround.Your ministers live in bungalows at Lutyens Square, fritter away money on nonsensical expenditure, and then pay the babus for ruining the economy in the first place through corruption, nepotism, and stupid and frivolous bureaucratic delays to progress. And who foots this bill for our ruination? Why we ourselves of course, thanks to the likes of PC the so-called FinMin, ably supported in the ruination part by Arjun Singh who has vowed to convert all India into a nation of non-performing mediocres who would NOT need reservations if they were good enough.
When all the good people have quit India's shores because she is harbouring such evil, I wonder who will look after Bharat Mata herself?
Hope She wakes up in time and stops this doom, triggered by power hungry politiicans, and the corrupt and self centred communists who indulge in double speak, double think and double talk. What's good for Bengal is NOT good for the rest of India, no sirrree.
Yes, I am not for or against the topic, 6th Pay Commission. I feel before going to debate on this issue, we need to consider the outcome of 5th Pay commission and how many recommondations have been implemented... Upto i have read in news papers.. only ONE point, i.e HIKE in salaries had been implemented. Others like, cutdown the unwanted work force, Closing the companies which are not making profits for so long time, were not at all considered by the Govt. WHY????? If at all Govt accepted the 5th Pay commission recommondations in full, so many small states like Orissa, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya and Mizoram would have gone bankruptcy in 2000. So, hue and cry against Pay commission set up is not to stop the process, but to implement all the recommondations at least in future to assure all state Govts that they won't face a situation to fell on Central Govts feet to feed thier employees. That condition is not at all good for Country's economy point of view. We should learn so many from China or Japan on how to build up strong economy. Otherwise, with these Govt polocies, we will be ruling by ANGREZ(worldbank). I am sure, Mahatma wont born again to bring Financial Indepence.
Salary of govt. employee are far below than their counterpart in pvt. Sector. But in pvt sector 90% of the employees are productive so company is sharing the profit to the employees by raising the salary. In govt sector also there are people works day and night without expecting anything. But they are only 20%. They are doing the job of remaining 80% of others who simply chit chat do time pass till 4.00 PM.
Increase govt. employees salary at par with pvt sector and change the rules in such a way that non performers can be thrown out with one month notice as it happens with most of the MNC. So we can get a good response when we visit a govt. office next time. Make the promotion based on the merit rather than seniority. When I was in govt. service I seen lot of crabs getting promoted and sitting on my head because of seniority.
I wish this pay commission should bring good salaries and accountability to govt. employees where hard workers should be rewarded and non-performers should see the door to road.

I do agree with you. Govt should device a way to single out black sheeps which are not performing and punish them heavily and those who are working hard for the organisation should be rewarded irrespective of caste and creed.
any pay increases should be linked to produtivity, new modern work practices and higher efficiency. Government sector salaries cannot be compared with that of private sector jobs - both in terms of pay and efficiency.
So any increase in Government pay should be linked to higher productivity and a leaner work force. Government should cut jobs in Government sector, a smaller - leaner and a more efficient work force.
The The Member of Pay Commission Respected Sir, I have to mention that pay commission's benefit goes to that person who earn high salary and Low salaried person can not get benefit comparing to High Salaried Person. The pay commission would be launched after every five year with Five year plan as other Ministerial staff and Bank Employee get benefit within five years. Please consider my suggestion and make some ammendment in the pay commission so that after every five year we can get benefit of raising salary and kindly give more attention to low salaried person who do not survive better with their family due to low salary. Hope to make a positive response. Thanking you Your Faizul Haque
While finalizing the recommendations the disaprity between public and private sector salaries should be minimised. Instead there should be control on the price hike rather than increasing the salary. In recent years there is no control on the prices of essential commodities and it is difficult for a common man to meet his both ends. Check the prices and hoarding in the country. B.L. Attri
