Infosys
by Jacob on Aug 18, 2006 08:05 PM  Permalink

Finally in business perspective they have won kudos and listed in the NASDAQ and it makes Indians proud (NRI's included).

The struggle behind the story is well forgotten they also had their share of downfalls. We ,as human beings, unfortunately dont seem to like the success story and try to find a black spot somewhere.

Rcently rediff has been trying to highlight Infosys a lot, but then thats business is what they call.

Cheers

indians are the best!
by sharadha on Aug 18, 2006 07:45 PM  Permalink

hellp plp!
please grow up,i jus cant get why is thut all are
blaming on indian companies. if u plp think that MNC
companies are far more better than indians, since they have their own products(jus like IBM!),then
why dont they do well in consulting services.
The recent revenue figures says it all! IBM ,topping
the fortune 500 has generated half the revenue(4195 mn $)when compared to TCS or infosys!
where does their fame rank in consulting services!
and if u guys are seriously interested in product development ,many of the indian companies do have R&D
.why not try joining them and channelise ur talents! why always opt for google, yahoo or microsoft
and help them to grow ,finally end up criticising indian companies!

Rediff...plesae stop chanting Infosys mantra..it's too much
by Mohan on Aug 18, 2006 07:00 PM  Permalink

Rediff,

Time and again, you chant only Infosys mantra as if Infosys is the only IT firm in this entire universe and that there are no other firms at all.

There a re a lot of firms and start ups making huge successes. Why Rediff turns blind eye to all such firms?

Mohan

Infosys always the best!
by Kundan Bhaduri on Aug 18, 2006 06:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am really amazed to hear foolish people talk of infosys as a \"grass cutting\" company !!! :-O

goodness gracious!

Infosys has long been the pioneer and charter of everything it has ventured into. while for TCS, the formulae has always been a simple work=resources X no. of hours
Infosys has always found out novel ways of approaching work and has always succeeded in executing ground breaking projects.

The very fact that the world market - nasdaq today recognizes infosys as india\'s face to the world speaks volumes.

we have always been the best, and will always remain so. anyways, no use discussing these with \"sarkari naukri karnewala\" TCS folks ! :)
they wouldnt know anyways! :))

regards,
Kundan
Infosys Technologies Ltd.

infy

I agree with the guy who has commented the Infy as a grass cutting company.

Does Infy has a branded product??. What it sells?

Can it be able to design and sell atleast a single software procut such as adobe acrobat?? Noway.

It simply sells Indian intelligent manpower to do some crap work to the so called developed countries.

Since money is coming in, no one thinks about that. Once the so called companies moves to still cheap labour producing countries with some good communication skills, then the necessity of innovation arises and whether Infy is ready for that?

Valuing employees-How far it is true?
by Raj on Aug 18, 2006 06:08 PM  Permalink

Dear All,
What Nandan Nilekani have said is really good to read but are these actually followed?
Are the employees really valued the way they should be and happy?
If yes, then why are people leaving so frequently.
I hope we should remember that "MONEY is not everything and all people do not work ONLY for Money. They also want to be valued within".
Also the management should remember that there is a saying that "People don't leave BAD organization, they leave BAD managers"
Management in Infosys may say that "since people are getting good opportunities so they are leaving". Are the management in Infosys really thinking "Why on the very first time, people within Infosys are looking out for opportunities?".
And also they should remember, that we cannot defy or go against nature. If Farmers allowed to grow weeds along with paddy, then the quality of paddy would be poor. So they remove the weeds. This is NATURE. Either grow good paddy or leave with poor quality.
Can these messages be passed to the Infosys management?
Regards

RE:Count on Infosys news

Well PS

Dont try to mock others and look intelligent , if u dont understand the etiquettes of business today , u r no more than a dumb duck. The business is more and more driving towards a process oriented architecture wherein entire application suites wud be given out as products, as time goes its going to be very very tough to maintain software built applications, software will be pushed to the back and companies like MS wud start giving out products based on software as products are much easier to maintain with newer version rollouts and thats why its very much imperative to build products than being just service oriented companies. I am sure our companies wud have woken up to this truth long time back but they are just yet not ready to leave the golden goose revenue thats coming out of services. Look at MS , its slowly moving the .net architecture to the back, using it as building blocks for products like Dynamics(Great Plains). Indian companies have to come out with Products if at all they want to be there in the market for the next generation.
