Infy growing future leaders
by gunesh on Aug 17, 2006 07:42 PM  Permalink

it is very interesting to study the highlights of the grooming future leadership in infy.
In this connection i would like share my idea about simultaniuosily tapping the most talented man power available in our villages and towns in india where the opurtunity of learning lacking. I therefore suggest that infocis should develop trainng institutes with collabaration or on franchase basis depends of its requirements for 10th or 12th standard boys or girls. By developing these skilled man power may help to do many such jobs which does not required a very high qualified hands and can be done by these trained people. This will also help a economical support to the poor families and in turn will help themselves to increase their accadimic qualifications.
Hope to receive ur responce

great news...
by Dr. Tyagi on Aug 16, 2006 01:39 PM  Permalink

Being Indian and doing anything, our genetic problem is that we never encourage anyone
the same is happening here too..........they talk about marketing, more working time, this that.

Why don't u foolish people think that it is really a great news for my great nation..........

Nothing is free, understand the law of nature
to be a scientist, engg, doc. IAS, IPS or whtever it is

One had to work harder and harder from 14-18 hours a day, only than the fruits will come

u people ve nothing to do just pulling legs of others...
what ve u gained in life without hard work,
even to eat food u ve to work hard on every piece of chapati (32 baar chabana padta hai, healthy rahana hai to, warna to mareej ho jaoge).

Hard Work , honesty, sincerity, and intension are the key of success of any organization of individual

ullu kahin ke, faltu kee baat karte rahate ho

c the west is doing advertizement for every single effort, they don't ve more than us, but they say it with confidence, which is no more in indians, and inspite of that, some lazy people like here, comments on negative way..
u r black spot on the Indian future

Relfections make more sense
by Vidyasagar on Aug 15, 2006 06:16 AM  Permalink

There are just 6 pillars supporting the edifice. Should have been 9 to reflect their 9 pillars of principles of development. or should have been Vice versa.

All this PR, what is it good for ??
by zygomatix on Aug 13, 2006 08:44 PM  Permalink

Facts :-

1) Freshers choose start-ups over Infy nowadays
2) Most of the folks who stay back are either waiting for an onsite opp or lookin out
3) Work culture frankly aint great. Concept of flexible work hrs doesnt exist, trying to do things your own way can cause a lot of friction.
4) Attrition rates hitting the ceiling, now people might quote a few reports that say attrition rate is less than 10% but employees know better. In fact 50% of the training batches leave within 1 yr.
5) Payroll constitutes a major part of expenses for the Indian IT companies. The day they start paying like the MNC's in India, their operating margins will fall below 20%. You can see the trend for yourself, operating margin has come down from 32-33% to abt 27-28% over the past 4-5 yrs due to wage pressures.

Infosys just cannot hope to retain people based on benefits. So what option do they have ? Build up an aura around the company that says challenging, mission critical work et all (as we can see in the print ads), use Mr NRN as the public face of Infy and hope to attract talent. This branding has fooled corporates but not the employees. Not gonna work, atleast hasnt worked till now !
