Abolish reservation for normal human beings. There should be reservations ONLY for physically disabled. Right now, the disabled are treated as outcastes.
i think only one time benefit should be given to a person of family belonging to backward class.i am a medical student from porr family and have got admission from open seat while i know my colleages from backward classes whose parents earn lakhs of rupees and still they got seat from reservation category .eg one of my colleages father is assistant comissioner of police and still he is backward.
Quota system survives these days mostly for political reasons. The so called minorities are a big majority when it comes to Votes and election. In most places in India, the minorities who enjoy the quota system are more organized than others. Take exmples of the Muslim league, SNDP etc. And when you are organized you have a big and controled vote bank. These necessarily are some disadvantages which a Peoples Democracy has to live with. Essentially, the evolution principles which work in favour of the fittest would some day turn things around. 'The' who struggle survive. For most part of the previous centuries, the majorities ruled our communities. The Brahmins and Kshathriyas played the smart game and became rich and affluent. 21st century is only finding a reversal.
Lets have reservation EVERYWHERE! For Walking on Streets For Water and Food Consumption For the Air that we breathe For Blood in Hospitals For seats in Cinema halls For any ticket queue's anywhere Let's also divide communities and states by division's of caste. Yes, if the ultimate objective is to ruin our nation let's start... Why let any foreign entity threaten to destroy us, let's tell them our politicians can do the job better. Let's Start now.
This article has highlighted a lot of facts faced in our country, why should there be a descrimination on the basis of caste or religion, if the main motto is to give benefits to the deserving candidates then let there be reservation according to economic background, it is not fair that a general gatagory student secures 90% marks and is out of the selected list while a quota person gets 40% and is in the list, this is gross inequality. if it is to give a lift to the underprivelaged then why is it so that once a person joins MBBS course in a reserved quota and then again further studies in PG MD/MS by quota, when you have given basic qualification as per the quota and after MBBS all are with equal degree then why quota for further studies. gross inequality, you can not dilute talent once India is growing and the whole world is looking towards our country for talent. it is high time that all these policies to be revised for the good of the country and not for selective political gains ashish
quotas must be provided for the sc, st and the obc classes. there is nothing wrong in it. When will they get their chance to come up in their life. This should be in effect for atleast say 15 yrs from now.
i strongly support this and why dont you people who oppose this are not fighting for your rights for the scavenger jobs and so on.... you want to stay at the top always and you never see down on people.
survival of the fittest is the current trend and only the fittest in this sc, st and obc candidates are going to pursue their education and so on.
we have all facilities to learn whereas they dont.... we should consider it .
Govt should cancel the quota system completely from every section.whether its education or job.if the govt is supporting the quota then why the 33% reservation for women bill is not passed yet.why reservation is only for common man not for politicians the ideal way is that govt should cancel all the quotas. how can a sc/st candidate qualify for particular exam with less marks criteria.is he/she really deserving get to that level of competition?.why they r getting reservation in every thing like marks, fees.they get exemption in fees n stil get scolarships from govt n open students whether he/she belongs to economically backward class has to pay more fees.all the pvt colleges run by politicians are hiking the fees.
Since we r living in democracy so the govt should open the field for everyone with equal criteria. It should scrap the quota system so that the right candidate whether sc/st or open will b place at right position according to their qualification.and this will booz the moral of all.
It is really the voice of the hour that can be heard in your article. Reservation is the word, which by itself, depicts that someone is weak; while there is none who is weak or backward! Every individual is divine and equally potential to achieve his/her life's purpose. It is only mean politicians (who are exploiting the public for securing their political interests) who resort to such cheap tricks called 'Reservations' thereby causing an irrepairable damage to the society. Let every educated individual object this objectively to put a step forward to achieve true democracy.
It is very clear that this quota system is completely due to the fact that the government has failed to create quality education at primary and secondary levels. But personally think that in a country like India that is really a difficult task considering the ground realities. So lets suggest something which is practical and unavoidable by the government.
1) Categorization should the an aggregate of the following factors:financial capability(50%), parent\'s educational qualification(15%),place(city/town/village/remote village/extremely remote village)(35%).
The percentage of each factors can be optimized properly.
2) Create government funded institutions which do have the coaching facilities, quality libraries and infrastructure exculsively for this cause.
3) Provide free education for those who are at below 50% aggregate, stipend to those whose aggregate is 50% - 65%.
These are very few things which i have listed out. kindly contribute.
The parties which want to implement the reservation should set an example by having 49.5% of the total candidates from reserved category . The party posts should also be reserved in the same proportion . Further since this amounts to almost 50 % reservation every seat of the member of the parliament should be a reserved seat in one election and a non reserved seat the next election . To be precise if Mr arjun Singh fights a election under non reserved seat from his constituence the next time that constituency should be reserved . This should go on by rotation .
