Family planning - pepsi style
by milind gade on Apr 26, 2006 06:19 PM  Permalink

This incident is really disgusting but since it has happened in India the company in question has gone with light fine. Actually the license for the bottling plant where this bottle originated should have been revoked.

The wise men from the advertisement industry would now support pepsi by saying that it was a ground breaking concept for advertising family planning.

In a country where the culprits of Bhopal gas tragedy go unpunished this is but a small & insignificant story.

wrong case it seems
by sash on Apr 26, 2006 06:16 PM  Permalink

It seems to be case of spurious soft drink being sold in pepsi bottle.

The manufacturing process is hands free and usually the company employees would not let such a thing ever happen.

Else, one can always put an item seal a bottle locally. there are means of doing this.

well, its sad but the company has to bear the brunt.

hope we are more careful in not allowing spurious drinks to flourish.... as consumer this is the least we can do.

Bada Bubbly Channel Hai !!!
by Kalarab Ray, Kolkata, India on Apr 26, 2006 06:14 PM  Permalink

Isn't it high time that PepsiCo used some of their huge advertising campaign budgets for improving their quality control measures !

Or, is it suggestive that we take necessary precautions (is Bula-di listening?) with shapely girls visiting our homes to provide Pepsi TV connections !!

Accountability.... THE BUCK stops here.....
by Jasviner Singh on Apr 26, 2006 06:05 PM  Permalink

Dear All,

The incident which is mentioned here, is one of many such malpractices in the market. The indian consumer is not aware of his / her rights. The company has to be accountable for whatever product it offers to the consumers. Its high time, the companies got to realise their responsibilities and accountability towards the consumer. Pepsico being an US company, ask them what is the punishment for not providing quality products in the US. They are sued for silly mistakes, and that shows how aware the US citizens are about their rights.

Regards,

Jasvinder Singh
