i strongly condemn any form of reservation. Reservation lays the foundation for imcompetency. India will have to suffer for generations due to this policy. This will only encourage more and more talented indians [Ofcourse non-OBCs/SCs/Sts} to look for greener pastures abroad.
The author is one of those Indians who go to US, practise discrimination against Blacks, low caste Indians, and looks down upon Hispanics as well. They study and go abroad but they carry with them all the prejudices of this subcontinent and keep practising them in a subvertive ways. They rub shoulders with other forward-caste Indians and talk about ills of Indian society and blame it on reservations and Muslims. Sujai
The argument that reservation for OBCs in IIMs and IITs will compromise the quality is baseless. Even the Harvard University tries to get a good mix of African-Americans, Hispianics and other ethnic minorties.
IIM Ahmedabad has always had quotas for non engineers. (Since the CAT has a quantitative bias large proportion of engineers make it to other IIMs.)
Currently the systems in IITs and IIMs have an upper caste bias. As a person who has served as a selction committe memeber in IIMB for four years, I can vouch for this fact.
Excellent talents are left behind because of lack of opportunities. We have OBCs who come into the civil services through reservation and are doing exceedingly well. When it works for the civil services, why not for IIMs and IITs?
There is a dire need to apply some correction factor immediately. It should ideally be done through self regulation. As it has not happened so far,the time has come for the government to legislate a reservation policy.

Sir,What you say is correct--the decrease in quality is baseless only if there are enough facilities. As you might be knowing, these higher education institutes are suffering from severe shortage of funds, professors and space even now. How can they accommodate the increase in strength if the infra-structure is not developed.
I think this reservation issue has successfully divided hindu society in to 2 parts- High caste and low caste.....again we are going back 100 years fighting between each other. All this is ignited by today's politician. Why cannot they just look on to bigger pictures like infrastructure, poverty, education,... Politicians are a joke they are never going to let out country progress. Admission to higher education should be purely on merit. They are planning to increase the number of seats. Do they realise what they are doing. They are just detoriating the quality , everybody around you will be doctors with no knowledge. Even a person who has got 50 % will get admission to medical. Everything will be just a joke.
reservations not justified. free primary and secondary education should be provided, seperate schools be developed, and purely on merit the admission should be given after hsc otherwise HSC is enough for him to survive and take his own decisions.
check out how many given free previliges have developed. truth is, admission given to these people have wasted the seats as most of them haven't been able to clear but only waste a seat which otherwise would have given one more engineer or doctor or scientist.
think and let others too join the strike, why only doctors. even others are also going to be affected in future

Yes reservations should be there in all spheres of life. Reservations should be implemented in armed forces, cricket teams of all states including the national team, 49.9% all the awards given by govt. must be reserved.
This is a letter to all the politicians who are supporting the reservation
Dear Sir Sub: Charity begins at home
I belong to General Class and I support reservation if and if only if you agree for 33.33% reservation for women in the parliament (remember the "parkati" statement by Mr.Sharad Yadav). I support reservation if there is 27.50% reservation for the OBC's in the parliament and cabinet. I support reservation if there is reservation for the post of President, Vice President and Prime minister at least in alternate terms. I support reservation if there is at least 50% reservation for the post of Governor.
Mr. Arjun Singh if you are ready to bring a bill in the parliament enaction the above laws than we are ready for the reservation.
In a nutshell, Mr. Singh you will be out of the job if do not belong to OBC even if you are competent to become a politician (I doubt about that)
