Dear Mr Dasgupta, as usual you are the problem and definitely not part of solution. Whatever your version may be its just a bunch of lies to save your own face from such an embarassing situation. How do you explaing names of so many "workers" who were part of this "Peaceful demonstration" who actually did not work with Honda at all!!!!!! It's a sad situation that in a overtly corrupt country like ours we have such a poor quality of Journalism that truth would never be it "Mera Bharat Mahan"
Well I am not sure that Rediff will also join the block along with Times of India and Hindustan times who have taken the side of our "Horrible" police system. We all know that this Police system and its way of dealing dates back of English time when the English used to treat Indians like Animals. though here in Britain its no more a case 90% of British police treats foreigners fairly well. but I am sure 99% of Haryana police or you can all of India's police men behaves like a wild beast. I have seens more than 30 countries but I am sorry to say I have NEVER AND NO WHERE seen a horrble brutal and corrupt police like India. I love India and its ARMY but surely hates the pollicewallah or better say them thullas. sunil from uk
The media does no analysis and just repeats soundbites in verbatim, the more controversial the better. First of all it is a traversty to the freedom fighters to liken this storm in a tea cup to Jallian walla bagh, yet the media carries the quotes. The protestors were all armed with lathi's and rocks, they attacked policemen and burnt down jeeeps and even asaulted and beat up a SSP, yet all this is not even raised as a question to the Communist's in the interview ( which shows the bias of the press too ! ) further there are leading questions rather statements made ( ie- no policeman has been suspended) and no question asked about how come in W Bengal tea strike ( much more number of workers involved much bigger impact on economy yet no coverage from the armchair reporters of Delhi) the Communist govt got a settlement done which the labout unions are calling a sell out to the managment, whereas here they are making a hue and cry over some 500 employees who are paid ten times higher than the tea estate employees. But then the media just want's to grab viewership/ readers, facts and analysis be damned.
A shameful incident happened in gurgoan which is threating event for indian democracy. Now Indian Government should take action in this matter and should punish all the policemen, state politicians and hero honda owner involved in this case. I am accepting the left parties who are always speaking in favour of labour should take immediate action in this context.
Well, what shud we expect from police to just stand & watch the honda employees behave like criminals, burning police vehicles, hitting police with stones or anything that they cud hv access to? No both the parties are to be blamed, both acted as criminals. Organised gangs well equipped with all sorts of problem creating material goes on rampaging & damaging life & property, the government, police, CPI, etc. sleeps or watches the action on tv, like it happened in Gujarat, is also not acceptable. There has to be some reaction to the voilent action. Be honest, be just, one day we have to face the consequences of our deeds, please do not forget it.
Mr. Dasgupta goes no talking about the Police brutality, which is indeed condemnable.
However, what about the earlier incident when the Honda workers hit the Policemen? The Left Front seems to conveniently forgetting about it.
Secondly, where was the left front when the tensions between the Honda workers and the Management reached such a volatile point? Why didnt any Left Leader support the Honda workers then?
The Left Front, like any other political party in India, is trying to get milage out of this incident.
The Left Front wants to have authority but without any responsibility.
This was clearly evident in the interview of Mr. Dasgupta on TV as well as the behaviour of Ms. Brinda Karat, which was also seen on TV.
The Left Front guys should realise that to ensure that the colalition leader runs the nation smoothly and without bias, the coalition partners should be themselves fair and not be critical just for the sake of it or try to get political milage out of every incident.
I dare the Left Front to take away the support from the Coalition Govt. They will not because they have never had it so good in their entire lifetime!
I wish to ask Mr. Dasgupta, the self-styled "defender of democracy" to kindly look at what is happening in his home state West Bengal. There is a dictatorial state government is place and police is only an arm of the government to keep the citizens under "control". There is fear in the air and atrocities committed by the "cadres" is well known in India and abroad. The police also behaves as cadre of the ruling Left Front. The residents enjoy virtually no freedom in West Bengal and the worst atrocities are committed by the police and cadres on their political opponents. Coomon people also are targetted if they fail to accept the dominance of the Left Front. Mr. Dasgupta should first set his own house in order.
I do not condone the happenings at Ghaziabad in general and at the Honda plant in particular. All I want to say is Mr. Dasgupta has no credentials at all to talk about "democracy" and "police atrocities". We do not want to live in a democracy "managed" by the communists.
Much have been read & said about the police brutality. Mr. Dasgupta must have seen the starting point where the policemen were mercilessly beaten by the workers. If not, please rewind the picture and try to see the fact what workers have done with policemen.
When I saw brutality in news, it was shoking. Police has acted beyond there power. And police didn't use the code of conduct of Lathicharge. Lathicharge should be done, if matter occurs, on legs and not on above waist. When workers surrendered, then also police was beating them brutali. Its shame on humanity. Police works in high pressure so then can act sometime unhumaly, but i feel senior management should have avoided the incident.
And when, the rally was scattered after 1st lathicharge, why police keep beating the workers??
Honda removed employees wanting to form a workers in turn the workers agitated, when the police stopped them from entering the company workers started beating police including a DCP, burnt vehicles, mishandle police men protecting the company. Tell me how do u control such hooligans, police did not have any options but to lathicharge.CPI is a sick party they would let indian die in poverty than let foreign investments for there political purpose. All those opposing Haryana Police are fools who are n will be misled by CPI, get sensible.
