HISTORY OF KASHMIR CONTINUED
by JOTISH NAIR on Aug 16, 2007 01:49 PM  Permalink

7.In October 1947, Pashtuns from Pakistan's North-West Frontier Province invaded Kashmir i. The ostensible aim of the guerrilla campaign was to frighten Hari Singh into submission. "Instead the Maharaja appealed to Mountbatten for assistance, and the Governor-General agreed on the condition that the ruler accede to India." Once the Maharaja signed the Instrument of Accession, "Indian soldiers entered Kashmir and drove the Pakistani-sponsored irregulars from all but a small section of the state.

JINNAH AND MUSLIM LEAGUE LACKED VISION
by JOTISH NAIR on Aug 16, 2007 01:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mahatma Gandhi was too nice a person to lead and direct the common men who diversed in a million ways. I wish Mahatma Gandhi had hardened a bit. When Muslim league intended a seperate state, it was their responsibility to take the entire muslims to the newly formed state of pakistan. Unfortunately ,the congress and its leaders failed to prevent the partition or to work out the partition fully.

Jinnah cheated the Muslims who remained back India by not providing them shelter in Pakistan.
Ironically the Indian muslims are better off than the pakistani muslims, 50% of them live under poverty and 72% of them are illiterates.

nice article but the vision/goal settings part is missing in it.
by jkinfotech on Aug 16, 2007 01:02 PM  Permalink

we are missing the role models who can lead us forward in this crazy world we live in..

i think this problem is is not only limited to india but all the countries are missing role models..

in india, successful industrialists are just misusing their power/money by playing monopoly and backdoor politics. these buggers are so busy thinking about expansion and control rather than thinking about the oridinary citizens and INDIA.

are we really independent
by sudhir chauhan on Aug 16, 2007 11:33 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

the bigger question today is what are we celebrating. are we really independent. the only difference since 1947 have been that the britishers have been replaced by Politicians. their has not been any major change.

common man is still supressed. When Viceroy use to move public was stopped and turned around. when our prime minister moves same happens, and policeman on duty behaves in same manner as army of viceroy use to. he can abuse you, splash his danda on you.

no one can dare file a FIR against SHO of a thans, no matter how deeply he is involved in crimes and other activities.

you can easily be framed as criminals and you will die fighting the case in court.

i wonder what are we proud of after 60 years. we are all living in fear - and we call it independence.

JAGO INDIA JAGO

85% of the population holds 95% of the jobs. Since there is so much corruption, it means that Hindus are intrinsically corrupt !

Avoid using arguments that don't make sense or are out of context.

St. Gowalkar and St. Savarkar were imbecile criminals, who created two nation theory and along with Jinnah wanted a religious solution to a politiical issue.

Kashmir is an outcome of parochial thinking of Patel.

You can fool all the people some of the time.
You can fool some of the people all the time.
But you can't fool all the people all the time.

Wow this is the most abusive post I have seen ever and its message abuse has been disabled by moderator ? bravo rediff you have a way or this guys is a hack.
Calling Savarkar as imbecile criminal wow thats the worst I have ever seen for a man who gave his life for Indias freedom and predicted fall of British rule.
The last 3 lines are correct though, guess the world has just started to wake up since 2002, time will tell the truth Mr. Logic Induction.
