by the way...
by Ganpat Rai on Mar 21, 2008 01:31 PM  Permalink

What is the objective of fashion design? I used to think it is supposed to develop new styles and fabrics which people can wear. Is that still the purpose of the fashion industry, or has it just become an industry that creates entertainment for its own sake?
Look at the "fashion weeks" that take place regularly in cities all around the world.
What percentage of the population in these cities would actually buy and wear such clothes?
I understand that it takes a lot of creativity and hard work to become fashion designers, and the models are among the best looking men and women in the world. I have absolutely no problem with fashion shows and the clothing seen in such. But the question remains: What purpose does the fashion industry solve in modern human society?

Wardrobe malfunction at the WLIFW!
by Nirpinder Singh on Mar 15, 2008 07:08 PM  Permalink

I have trouble treating this topic as anything other than much ado about nothing. These girls (fashion models) are in a serious line of work. Theirs is a hard life while trying to earn a living. To accuse them or the fashion designers of exhibitionism is pure travesty. They are only giving us what we desire to look at. Some of these costumes make one wonder as to how everything is held together. On top of that it is likely that things are pure bedlam backstage during a show. There is a very quick turn around time for models. So if a button is left unbuttoned or a pin unpinned here or there what is the difference?

Our fashion designers are trying to do what Newton or Einstein could not- producing gravity defying (perhaps) cloth. Every new inventions has malfunction-just teeting problem, we need to be patient.

Guess brithday suit may be next technology in pipeline.

i think the news is wrong. it says models assets got exposed. but in picture it does not seem so. either this news is fake or rediff did not post the correct photo. i think with these kind of news you should give exact photos as evidence, isn't it dude?

u did not see the news yesterday. they were exposed. further, dont expect that news agencies can be permitted to show the full foto for ur satisfaction. they will be fined. regarding evidence, if u file a case, then the judge will be shown the full foto, so become a judge if u want to see the full foto...
