Whole of services sector sucks
by S Kiran on Jun 04, 2008 02:00 PM  Permalink

Are there any people who are satisfied with their Phone service provider and Bank. This means they are no better than govt departments, in fact they are much worse.

CELL PHONE SERVICE PROVIDERS ?
by TV KUMAR on Jun 04, 2008 01:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Vodafone for that matter is trying to make a faster track by their HAPPY TO HELP YOU slogan. But let the users try to contact Customer care toll free number 111 at least in Punjab where it is growing but should be prepared to spare 30 minutes to get connected. If they are successful they hear voice of Executive of which the slogan is prominent but conversation is inaudible because of jarring voices from behind probably ill equipped cabins of Call Centre and if they speak their speech is undecipherable because of the jet speed like Bullet trains of Japan. Still if you want some information the stock reply is our records are in the process of up gradation and hence no data is presently available of your called phone. We would suggest that the Mr Ghosh the Indian Chief should call one of such call centres and hear and experience himself. E-mails unlike the other leader Airtel and IDEA are never replied to. No wonder with the retiring VODAFONE miraculous ARUN SARIN things may not be that smooth in future unless they gear up. TV Kumar

Very right.. Not only Punjab.. Even Maharashtra and Goa circle.. have to dial atleast 10-15 times before getting through as error msg appears: call-failed, number busy. next to get an agent online is another long process. These companies try to wear a customer out.. But dont give up.. write a few emails to TRAI, consumer forum and the companies themselves.. Although it will take a long time you will finally succeed..

I took leave from the office, went to pay the amount. Even i asked to airtel exectuves, now they are denieying that my conncetion was not active.I paid the total amount
!! No way to fighting with these people!! Now I am looking for swiching with other operator.

by anukaran saxena on Jun 04, 2008 01:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

sir, read ur article....its good to have some body mentioning it .i and my frnds hve faced same problems many times.so what we concluded was if you pick up the call frm your service provider regarding any schemes and tunes for ur mobile ...do not answer cuz smetimes by default they can set the offer r hello tune fr u.nw how to identify: mostly they call frm the same no so u can save those numbers maybe 3-4 with sme names n should not recieve it.nw for redeeming the balance u can talk to the manager or can tell them you will be proceeding 2wrds the consumers court.best of luck.hope saving nos n nt picking up the call certainly helps.

Yes, that right. I saved these numbers with to identify as Waste Voda1, Waste Vode2 etc. When I get calls from same number I do not pick it up. A lesson learnt after wasting a few bucks.

Day robbery
by Salman on Jun 04, 2008 01:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am having similar experience to share.
I am having 2 postpaid connections with vadafone.
Jan 2008 they activated caller tune without my knowledge, after enquiring about the matter they said I have requested for the same and Rs 30/month will be charged even if caller tune activated for 1 day.then asked them to deactivate it that day itself.
From then onwards I spoke to them more then 10 times and sent many SMS for deactivation on their advice.
Now it’s June the caller tune not deactivated, they are charging me Rs 30/month from Jan.
Without any request they will tell us they activated caller tune upon our request but after personally speaking to them for 10 times will not help to deactivate the caller tune.
This a type of day robbery and govt just busy with collecting the taxes and politicians and officals filling there pockets.
Is any body there to protect us?

If it is not impossible for you to change your mobile number, just send them a letter to the 'street dog' Vodafone customer care informing that you are going to discontinue the connection if they continue doing like this. Also give copy of your sms and other references to consumer court.
Vodafone is like a dog which they show in ads but a street dog as far as my experience goes and I have discontinued their line and switched over to Reliance with excellent connectivity and service.
