phew! it is so refreshing to see the Indian Woman accept her desires, hers sexuality and her independent perception of life, and feelings. Wake up Indian men and respect the sexual independence of women. And wake up prudish Indian women, accept your sexuality and your UNIQUE RIGHT TO SEXUAL EXPRESSION out of choice and not out of obligation!
phew! finally a woman with 'balls' to accept her sexuality and talk about it openly! Women are wking up to their realities! time for Indian men to wake up to the Individuality of teh Indian Woman
I just loved reading your experiences in life, Not many are lucky to go through all these facets of life, Many don't have the courage to do what they want... But appreciate you for your courage to live through all those tough times...But u had good times too, remember... So you may not be lucky enough to be in ur dream world forever...but you lived your dream if only for a little time...Much better than those who stay by the sidelines...just looking and complaining at the brave ones like you...Ciao
Hungama Hai kyo burpa, thoda sa jo sach bol diya! Meenakshi You are an awful, bold, craeative and out of the box girl. Kudos to you. All those talking shit about her litrary venture must stop being hypocrite and stop preaching about moral and character. If investigated, they will be surprised to se theier own reality or of people around them.
I tried to read that sh*t as long as I could. One thing: such stuff sells, because there are many girls/boys whose lack of intellect would exactly match that of the author's. I can sense a lack of storyline; a stupis juxtapositioning of the female protagonist Arshi, her stupid sexual escapades, something that Delhi babes think as romantic in class 8th; and by the time their quest for emancipation ends, they are in class 12th or so, bedded by 4 different guys, kissed and cuddled by 7 further, and left crying saying why did you do this to me, why did you do that to me. The author's profile too, if one cares to go through her blogs, is very similar.
Darn those who say such things are happening in our society and the representation is true and correct.
Her class should be limited to writing blogs (that have a high on rev, low on fuel audience; the unparented youngsters of today, and not the elite who buy books)
And God! It's Penguin that's publishing her !! :-|
mmmmmiss Meenakshi, to a sane heart, "You Are Nowhere".
If a girl maintaining all type of relationship that people use to do after marriage & taking drinks.....and then expecting to have a noble & ethical relationship with that boy......WHICH IS ABSURD..... it is a good article/book for those who are not maintaining ethical value system in life......
the central character - a 25 yr old Arshi - and her narration about her miserably mundane existance is interesting and definitely worth the effort.. even the simple fluid language resonates to the spoken language used by pple of that age group. So friends pls stop being judgemental and chauvnistic..its a literary art.. So evaluate it as a reader and not as a moral judge.. these are the realities in today's world
