yeah i totally agree, money can buy happiness. money may not be everything but it is "SOMETHING" which is very important. People say it cant buy everything. Now i dont have money and i am not happy but if i have more money i would be more happier. Money is very important.

DO YOU THINK SO... if you get more money then you would wish for more. bigger the home smaller is the unity of family.
you can't really 'buy' happiness. but good health, wealth, family, friends, lifestyle are modes of happiness in a way. i guess if any one of these is missing, we cannot claim to be totally happy.
without the money no happiness in life.nobody can achived the joy of life without fulfilment the minimum requirement.even a person cannot make happy his wife and children without money.who can ?

But I know many people who have good bank balance but they are most unhappy and know many road side labourer who are very happy. why so please explain?
Q1) If you had no money to buy food, would you be happy? Ans: No... case in point: the farmers committing suicide. Clearly then, if absence of money prevents misery, then money did buy you some happiness. Q2) If you had your basic necessities satisfied, would you be happy? Ans: Sort of, but you wouldn't mind additional goods like cars, trips to europe etc. You do get some happiness out of it, if not a lot.
Beyond a point though, the law of diminishing returns kicks in, and you need a LOT of money to buy little happiness.
However, there's more to it than that: All relationships in your life are directly or indirectly linked to your income. Your closest friends are typically of similar educational and economic background, and (most likely) so were their parents. Your wife is probably of a similar economic and educational background. Perhaps even cultural... So, while money didn't buy happiness or love, it influences your choices in the relationships that give you this.
Money is the reason we study towards a career. Why take a moral high ground and claim that earning money for oneself is a bad thing? If you strip off all the hyperbole, the FUNDAMENTAL reason you work is not job satisfaction, but money -- roti, kapda, makaan. Job satisfaction comes along the way... So, why demean money? Just because some religious books say so? People who pursue money contribute more to society than someone who gave up everything and went to himalayas. To me, the latter is more selfish!
Too much of anything ain't good, and the same applies to money as well. What brings happiness is your belief systems, your thoughts, your leisure activities (which may or may not require money, btw), your relationships and your attitude to your life in general. Money has no correlation to happiness. The more you go behind it, the sooner you forget what's the world all about as you get lost in the race to make more. You may make more certainly, but the pressures of it all will ensure you hit the grave sooner than someone who leads a simple, contended life (whatever be the definition of it you give.) You don't want to be the richest man in the cemetery, do you? Or, do you want to look for inner peace and simple things and be contended with what you make and what you get? It's your choice!

Wahh. If everybody starts thinking like you then there won't be any Dheerubhai Ambani, Laxmi Mittal, JRD Tata, Narayan Moorthy, Warren Buffet, or Bil Gates - in this world. Want to make a world full of "contended" and "self-peace" smiling middle-classers? Let's go back a few million years. With contempt and inner-peace; could man invent fire or a wheel?

mr. true indian, you are a true idiot
your attitude towards life is happiness. if you are content with what you have then you are happy. all the great names you mentioned did not work on their own they had middle classers working very hard for them. you are absolutely right man did not invent fire with happiness neither did he use money.
money is a necessary but its not the ultimate thing. money is a soul destroying weapon, no one with money can be a good friend.

Mr True Indian, They got their money by investing in their passion, money they have is result of their passion.
Look around the famous people around, people who had done hardwork and a passion for what they are doing, which benefited many people have been able to stay at the top for a long time.

Yes, and their passion was money. Most of them anyway. If Bill Gates was passionate about computer science, he would have stayed in Harvard, maybe done a PhD and become a university professor (in the US, univ professors do amazing reasearch. Most of the major breakthroughs in computer science and engineering has happened at universities). They don't earn much, and work for this passion more than money. Bill Gates created institution, really, and regardless of MS's policies, has created jobs for millions. Why? Because he wanted to make money. These things don't just happen. Sachin tendulkar has records because he wanted them, his claims to the contrary notwithstanding. Greed is good...
First of all ,suppose we don't have any money ,then 1.We shall always be under strain even to carry on minimum activites. 2.In the absence of money our stomach shall always be hungry for food. 3.Basic necassities will always be a dream. 4.In the absence of money all relatives will be shy & try to jump over you. 5.Tensions of less money will lead to high BP or Low BP. There are so many things for which we desire for but they always remain unfulfilled for want of money . Thus we can conclude that less money will be a headach where as in its presence we will get everything and thus happiness. It is the realistic status of our society though some human beings may claim otherwise i.e that they do not need money etc.etc.(all hypothetical talks). So money do play a great role in our life to attain happiness.
