Yes. In the prevailing situation they r a must. Coaching classes are giving better coaching while schools and colleges are supposed to give teaching. While those responsible for giving the best teaching are not able to perform their duties properly, this situation will continue

by megha upadhyay...is coaching classes is most inportant then the scool classes? ........
coaching classess are neceesary evil.Instead of banning coaching classes ,Govt.should constitute a regulatory authority such as Maharashtra Coaching & tution classes Regulatory authority which should be entrusted with the responsibility of regulating the fee structure, allocating the stars such 5-star or 4 star coaching classes depending upon availability of infrastracture, quality of faculty available in the institution.
Tution for a weak subject/s are necessary for overall knowledge improvemnt of the subject where are as coaching classes are not.Coaching classes helps to enrich the owner. Parents /children are temted to buy it when it is available in the market. It also helps to keep up egos of parents.Eg.my son/daughter is going to ------classes.Some are force to send their wards because of pressure and also in the hope of doing well in the exam scoring higher marks without knowing their wards IQ.Afterall exploitation of lesser knowledge is prevalent in all sphere of life why single out only education!
The system of assesment based on 3 hrs of entrance test completely overlooks the grades in boards. This has lead to heavy dependence on these coaching classes who makes you go through the pattern of papers for a particular exam over & over again. The coaching centres at Kota & other metros are a great example of how seats in few institutes of repute are cornered by students preparing over their & ignoring class room studies. The products of such a system are total failure in industry where they are found lacking in commonsense & emotional quotient. This has also created shortage of good women technocrats as parents can't send their daughters to these centres for coaching as against boys who can stay in Pg's & cram round the year & make it in IIT,IIM's & AIIMS.How else can the institutes of merit otherwise justify very low percentage of girls making it to IIIT & IIM's whereas all Boards have only girls as rankers? The government should put an end to this by allowing more technical colleges to come up through large corporates & also have one IIT & IIM at every state capital. We already have an army of vegetable technocrats who excels only in academics with no interest in other faculties of life. The time has come to reduce pressure of only studies on children & make them all rounders.
TO GET ADMISSION INTO A GOOD COLLEGE, THESE CLASSES ARE A MUST AS THEY GUIDE YOU WELL ABOUT HOW TO PREPARE, WHICH BOOKS TO STUDY, AND WHICH ARE THE TEST CENTRES ONE SHOULD GO FOR. APART FROM THAT THEY HELP THE STUDENTS TO UNDERGO A PLANNED FORM OF STUDY.
THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THE LEADING TUTORIALS IS THAT THEY DEMAND FOR ATLEAST A FULL ONE YEAR COURSE FEE WHUCH STANDS NON-REFUNDABLE. IN THIS CASE, IF A STUDENT PERSONALLY FEELS DISSATTISFIED WITH THE TEACHING CANNOT QUIT THE PROGRAM AND GO FOR A BETTER ONE. OTHERWISE, A RIGHT COACHING CENTRE CONTRIBUTES A LOT IN A STUDENT'S PERFORMANCE.

No,person can do well without coaching but there must be confidence & ability to achieve something.
One cannot ban these as there is a ncessity for the coaching class. If it is banned it will be continued wit hnew name for it because it is the need of the hour for the people.
Here is the big problem fo govt. If something is to be banned Govt should see whether it can be successfully banned or not , whether it is really required and what way the licenses can be given to run the classes etc. Blindly banning will not help. Better give licenses to run classes and tax the income earned. Those who wish to avail it will go for it.
