First thing I hate casteism which is another name of racism but I would like to raise and clarify few points :
1) NEW GENERATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE DOESN'T HAVE ANY IDEA OF HOW INDIAN SOCIETY HAS EVOLVED TO TODAY'S STATE ?
2) THEY ARE MADE TO BELIEVE THAT SC/ST HAVE RISEN A LOT AND THEY DON'T NEED RESERVATION AFTER 60 YRS OF INDEPENDENCE. ( BUT DON'T FORGET UNTOUCHABILITY IS BEING PRACTISED FOR MORE THAN 2000 YEARS, AND IS 60 YRS OF FAVOURED TREATMENT IS ENOUGH TO LIFT THEM ? )
3) BY LOOKING AT FEW ELITE SC/ST AROUND YOU, YOU JUST CAN'T MAKE CONCLUSION ABOUT THE WHOLE GROUP OF SC/ST'S.
4) ALL THE WRITERS HERE ARE MOSTLY FROM URBAN BACKGROUND, AND THAT IS THE MAJOR CAUSE WHICH IS MAKING THEM BELIEVE THAT SC/ST ARE NOW AT REASONABLE LEVEL TO COMPETE WITH OTHER GROUPS.
5) BUT THAT ISN'T THE FACT, IF YOU WILL GO TO VILLAGES OF INDIA, THERE YOU WILL SEE HOW DOWNTRODDEN DALITS ARE.
6) SEEING FEW ELITE DALITS/ST'S DOESN'T GIVE YOU OVERALL IDEA OF THEM
7) AND DON'T FORGET UNTOUCHBILITY WAS ABOLISHED ONLY AFTER INDIA'S INDEPENDENCE, SO DON'T THINK IT'S NOT PRACTISED NOW, IT'S VERY MUCH PREVALENT IN ALL THE VILLAGES OF INDIA
8) IN URBAN AREA YOU DON'T SEE PEOPLE PRACTISING UNTOUCHABILITY BECAUSE LAWS ARE BETTER APPLIED HERE AND PEOPLE ARE GENERALLY AWARE, SO IT LEADS TO OTHER FORM OF DISCRIMINATION : NEPOTISM, FAVOURITISM

so..what is wrong with having reservations based on economic need rather than religion? the elite sc/st who obviously no longer need it won't get it. isn't the whole point of reservation?.. uplifting the downtrodden..won't ecocnomic need based reservations solve that in one shot... but that will never happen as politically there is no upside to that approach.

also once a person gets reservation his next generation should not be allowed for it. Thats the only way where progressively we can wash out reservations

and see the last one month's Media reports..... about India..... and find those Non-muslim involved Violences due to Seemingly Silly issues:
1. Ulfa...... in Assam with Non-Assamese....... 2. Attack on Masjid.... yet NO reaction from Muslims. 3. DMK cheif's two SONS rivalry violence..... 4. Nandigram... and other SEZs violence.. 5. Sword-weilding Sikhs in Punjab....... 6. Naxals....... everywhere in India....... 7. Now You see in Rajasthan and other places... CASTE ...WAR....
and Globally..... Nigeria ... and SriLanka are the chart Busters with Ethnic Violences guided by Oil-based Vested interests.....
IN FACT.. Where there is people There is politics Where there is politics.. there policy is involved........ Where there is POLICY , rather than Performance. there is Conflicts And Where there is Conflicts......... There would be VIOLENCE
there is least connection of Violence with any Religion as such....
Only solution is that the King or the government should be wise and Just. JUSTICE only is the solution of Conflicts and Violence......... I mean........total and eternal justice........ based on Human Brotherhood, not just short-sighted and Localised or Nation-based theories of Justice
