abbe durjay.. "after a long time someone who has guts to say truth. "
do you need guts to tell the kind of thing that nissan said. it was reported in news channels very recently. what nissan said is already known and is a fact. muslims are not being given flats in hindu localities is not because of racism but because of the fact that "not all muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are muslims" and no one wants to fall into trouble by mixing with them. coz yu dont know which one is a terrorist...eg kafeel ahmed.
I totally agree that inside most of the British are racist. But thinking about it I should mention this. During my stay abroad in last couple of years, I noticed Indians abroad dont go around looking for other indians. Tamilians will try to get only tamil friends, nurses from kerala would mingle only with the same community. Andhrapradesh people will keep in touch only with their community. The first thing we ask when we see another same coloured person is which community we belong to. I speak four different indian languages and i never found any difficulty speaking to different community. But i find this attitude of indian community overwhelming. We can't blame them either because the differences we have. I strongly feel Indians are more racist than anyone else though we are most of the time brought up surrounded by varied culture/language. One is more open minded when he is in school, where we have muslim/christian/hindu/bengali/kannada/etc., friends. once we grow we tendto become racist. English people are quite polite but they surely can't escape this nature. Infact, there is racism inside Britain between, English, Welsh, Scottish and NorthernIreland community.
Even though, the Eastern Europeans are coming into Britain like waves of sea flood. It%u2019s somehow still OK for the British public. Because, the Eastern Europeans are from the so-called enlarged European Union (21st century great political joke) and they are somewhat the same colour as British. Also, the British public and politicians do think that the non-Europeans are culturally and economically invading all corners of Britain today. They are getting jealous of dominant Asian minority. That%u2019s why now there are tougher visa restrictions, delay in issuing visas, recent %u2018motivated%u2019 HSMP revision and the increase in number of years to apply for residency in Britain are all indirect means to keep the %u2018Browns%u2019 away from Britain. Let me explain it a bit more. Today%u2019s great British politics, lifestyle, business, economy and national cuisine (Chicken Tikka Masala is the national dish of Britain since 2000!) are being greatly influenced by the Asians. A very remarkable feat that the Scottish, Irish and Welsh trio couldn%u2019t able to do for several centuries and had totally failed. Also, majority of the Asians are well educated, intelligent, smart, beautiful in heart, hard working and economically prospering than ever before. If the first wave of Asian migrants helped to revive the shops and stores on Britain's streets, the second and third generation of Asians are now making their mark on the financial and business world. Without the Asians, the Brit

no one is UK would accept it that they are racist but they are..its all under the surface.I've been in UK for about 10 month and I've faced it many time, in bus in pub and the most i faced was in finding a house. I had seen a house thru a property dealer and when i met the house owner, she refused to give me the house as I am an India, thats what she told me and the reason for that she told was indian is taking away their jobs, and i just simply said thats b'ze you aint well eduacted and donot deserve that job thats why your job is going to India and indian in UK.
I face it almost whenever i travel in bus or train.people give a that shity look??

I totally agree that UK is racist. I am in UK for the last 6 years and i can say that there is racism at every level in UK. In jobs, they have to hire Indians because the law states that there should be minimum number of colored people in the organisation. In a way the racism have done good to Asians because most of them tend to start there own work/business, rather than working and facing humiliation in work and promotions. Now a major part of Uk economy is run by Indians/asians. This also dosen't go down well with brits who try to make life dificult for us. The recent case of HSMP proves the point. How can any coutry change the law suddendly and try to get rid of the experts who came legally. HSMP people are not some rikshawala or a cleaner like bangaldeshis in India who come into the country illegaly, but are the creamy layer of India.

Now I realised most people who were earlier enjoying their stay in Uk are now frustrated by the tightening of HSMP. Do not you feel those who came to britain as highly skilled manpower were on worst kind of job or no job. Now when they change the law , people think they are racist. It is ridiculous. If you think you are very competent and ask your employer for work permit or go back to India and serve the nation. Problem is that we never think that we are most selffish and racist society.DK

Mr. Amit Sharma, This is in response to ur message above. HSMP is a visa to allow skilled people in the country. If they feel that they have enough skilled people, then they will stop issuing visas. They will change the laws any which way they want, because they are concerned about their economy and not about the creamy layer of india.

I totally disagree with the argument.Unfortunately, many insensitive indian usually on a very short trip abroad see indifference as racism. In crux, still the british society on average is the most inclusive society giving more than appropriate regards to foreigners. There are many gross example of their continious tolerance towards a lot of notorious activities and terriorist threat from asian looking man. One should clearly understand most asian looks like same and no one bears a stamp on the head that they are clean. What is the harm if they take care and they are more vigilant. After all this is most resposible(on average) and aware society. We have spent several years living here, initially some times we thought like you but once you understand you find that they are most generous, helpful and inclusive. DK

I agree with Amit here. I have stayed in US and UK and found a stark difference in the attitude of the Britishers. Though racism is not openy practised,it is easily revealed in their behaviour. US is much different in this case. Its a live ans let live scenario, though I can't deny that the frustration of losing jobs to indian outsourcing is slowely creeping up.

I completely agree with what Gayathri has said. I was in UK when the 7/7 attacks happened and the failed attacks two weeks after that. I was there during Aug 06' failed attacks when she youths planned to blow planes over the atlantic.
Yet to White brit, pointed fingers at Asians. They are intelligent enought to understand who does these things. Also, they are fed up with the number of immigrants in their country. But they understand that their forgein policy is to be blamed.

What did Tamils ask for? There is no point in talking about racist taunts received by Indians abroad when people like you do not have respect for our own Indians (say Tamils or Biharis).

I sympathize with you. I have experienced these 'Bhaiyya' taunts in Mumbai as well. UP and Bihar people are gleefully fingered here even though we toil hard. Wait till we become a majority over here.

Kunal, this is precisely a racist remark. What's so 'unfortunate' in that ? Can you reason out the problems you have with immigrants from UP and Bihar ?

"Wait till we become a majority over here." ramkhilavan, these kind of threats precisely show your mental makeup. that is why people want to stay away from you. you ask for it you get it.. dont complain.

Mr. Yadav UPs and biharis have come to mumbai and made it dirty. they are driving autorickshaws and taxis. they are mostly illeterate and u should see the way they stay they sleep in the rickshaw overnite and they shit and pee in the nearby gutter. they dont have any trafic sense.they have taken up jobs in mtnl and see to it that no one outside their community gets a job there.all thanks to people like KRUPASHANKAR SINGH. can a person living in mumbai come and do the same thing in UP and Bihar? i wonder.
RE:Yeah My story

Your accusations are heavily biased. I have lived in Mumbai. I have seen people piss and shit in open gutters. This is a tendancy of unpriviledged poor people living in hutments comprising of local as well as immigrant labour. So don't just blame UP's and biharis for the scene.
