Credit Card Fraud
by Anil Kondath on Jan 31, 2007 04:19 PM  Permalink

Whereever the cards are to be handed over to a third person (restaurants or any such places) - for such establishments the credit card companies should insist on a wireless swipe machine which can be used on the customers table.

Use a simple solution...remember the CVV number and add a sticker on it in the card so that one cannot see it ....Its only for your use why let others see it

Payment slips
by atul mahajan on Jan 31, 2007 03:28 PM  Permalink

Never forget to take the customer copy of the payment and ensure the amount is correct on the merchant copy. Keep ur slips intact until you make the payment for that transiction. If you notice any fraudalant transaction, ask bank for the merchant copy of that particular transaction. Do keep the credit card nos., bank's customer care nos., handy with you so that you can report loss of card immediately in case you happen to loose one.

Fraud Through Credit cards
by mmd ali on Jan 31, 2007 03:26 PM  Permalink

This is going on everywhere but the right solution is not throwing it are not banning it to use it again it depends on each particular person. This can be stopped like this that they should be sent a message twice stating that there is a transaction done from his account and tell him that if it done from his end reply to the toll free number (xxxxxx) as yes or no. As per my knowledge a maximum of knowledgeable persons are using it and they can respond it stating that yes, no or something else. Through which you will be satisfied that yes it is done by a authorized person holding that card.

Credit Card Companies
by Jagan on Jan 31, 2007 03:22 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Credit Card companies should ask for signature verification. For online transaction, it is the card holder who has to be careful and the card company should ask confirmation of the transaction.

Many stores in US do ask for Picture ID with the name and signature matching. The same can be followed here.

Credit Cards Misuse Interest rates etc.
by Mahesh Nayathil on Jan 31, 2007 03:13 PM  Permalink

Sub: Credit Cards Agreement..

I have got a ICICI Bank Credit Card..

I withdrew Rs.5000/- and Rs.400/- and Rs.1000/- and Rs.500/- two times in one month because I did not receive my HDFC debit card which was hotlisted..

So total transaction fee is Rs.1500/-

Beware if you withdraw Rs.100/- You will be charged approx. Rs.330/- and then there is late fee 30% of minimum amount outstanding and it will accumulate..to around 2000/-

So don%u2019t take the hedache of Credit Cards

If you want to withdra Csh advance withdrw Rs.6000/- then it will be charged the same amount..
Cut copy paste these links or checkout home bank site or have a search in the net

http://www.abnamroindia.com/creditcard/CardmemberAgreement.html

Will the ICICI Bank please display their Card Agreement details like the ABN AmRO Bank did

It si already there

http://www.icicibank.com/pfsuser/cards/creditcard/cc_eligibility_fees.htm

I have been Chraged Rs.300/- or 2.5% whichever is maximum plus service tax as transaction charges for cash withdrawal from ATM that is cash advance

The finance charges are 2.95% monthly that is 41.95% annually on extended credit..

That is kolla palisha or like a blade company..

http://www.rbi.org.in/scripts/Cn_SavingsBond.aspx?Id=2627&Mode=0

The credit card guidelines have to be revised..

The credit cards are safe in the net I suppose but can be very easily misused..

The solution is to have interbank autodebit and also reduce interest rates..

Also use debit cards for purchase in the internet..

What do you say RBI Governor and President of India..

Mkae your payments quickly taht is credit then why do you call it credit waht is advantage of credit??

Can the ICICI and other credit caRD PEOPLE UPLOAD ADVANTAGES OF CREDIT CARD ON THE SITE
You should have a mobile if you have credit card..Also if it si swiped you have to sigh the acknowlwedgement..
The solutions are reading fingerprint of the holder and interface it on the magnetic tape and advanced version is to pick up human signals from the body to identify the person.. Just update your contact and mobile no.s and be acreful with your ATM.. The PIN no. should not be disclosed to anybody..

Credit Card itself is a big fraud !
by chanakya maurya on Jan 31, 2007 03:00 PM  Permalink

The guy at receiving end is assured of the money.

But the guy or the doll whose pocket is being picked is not consulted over the mobile whether a transaction is bona fide or otherwise.

Verifying with the card holder on his mobile plus asking him a code word to confirm that he/she is the right person must be made a legal requirement.

Most frauds are perpetrated by the card company staff = card company itself.

With cards proliferating, this crime, too, would proliferate unless some check-mate is made mandatory by law.

Like sex it must be consensuous.

When one is being $#@#ed, one's consent should be obtained.

I think the concerned bank must call the customer whenever any online payment made
to enable the customer to know the transaction
whether it is really made by them irrespect of the transaction. If the bankers fail to do the cardholder can fight for the fraud transaction
took place without his knowledge.

1.when ever any call centre approch you for credit card do not entertain them.

2.If they ask you to submit the xerox copy of your existing credit card don`t give , never this is the loo pole from their the maximum chance of manuplate your card number.
3.If even you need card then call authorised excutive of banks and cross verify their identycard.
4.In a summary avoid such calls
