If you refuse a offer for a top job and become an enterpreneur and fail in the venture , you will never get a top job

This of course doesn't happen. I infact welcome people who were enterpreneur and somehow failed. Failing is not the end of the world and I assume the guy would be much more cautious and committed in job and so far has seen this practically.

One should start business by readying oneself to fail. One learns most by mistakes and failing. Going back to job should be last option when you start business. Moreover, you will have experience of having own business as plus if at all you apply for job. This is win-win situation.

I like to add my 2cents. I run a start up, yes, Team is very important. If you are losing, try to survive as long as you can, you have a chance to win at any time. Once you think that you can not win, just quit and there are much lots of opportunities. Wish everyone all the best!

An Idea can change your life
by on Jan 29, 2007 10:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

An entrepreneur is not an employee but an employer. At the top of all private corporations are entrepreneurs, the people who concieved them as ideas and foresaw their present a long time ago as a vision. People who had something original to offer to the society. People who started out with tiny buds and eventually transformed them into entirely new branches of human civiilization ,many of which ,over time have become inseperable organs of the way we live.
An entrepreneur is not a single specialized skill set that you can use over time, to fill some predefined space in the human society, but creation of entirely new space. It is not an option but a realization that comes to someone who has an idea, the ability and the willpower to implement and sell it ,and at the end of the day is still ready to accept failure. The two are entirely different and incomparable.Yet there could be a stage where one is a stepping stone to the other.

Entrepreneurship
by abinashkumar singh on Jan 29, 2007 10:05 PM  Permalink

Entrepreneurship is all about being confident and having an innate ability of taking risks and being creative in decision making. I thing all individuals possesing these skills should think about starting their own business and giving employment to others rather than being employed themselves.

Defnitely - Entrepreneurship
by Ramesh P on Jan 29, 2007 09:22 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is defnitely enterpreneurship in the current age. India is poised to become a bigger economy. We would not be having Infosys if Narayan Murthy had not taken the decision.
The crux about enterprenuership is you are not earning your living but also giving others the same. Recently I had read an inspiring story of Sarath Babu an IIM Grad who started his own catering business.
A top MBA and lucrative job in the initial phase of career is great but it will be great if it flies of with enterpreneurship.

I repeat in current situation of India's economic boom, this is the best time to start a company.

Entering into an Venture without adequate knowledge is like .. Elephant on his own wicket on the other hand, No Risk No Reward......

Prepare your homework for atleast 2 years ,I mean stay in that particular field then analyse the position whether you can succeed if u start up with ur own venture... then decide according to yourself..........................

Experience counts than sayings... Which I learnt through my exprn..

Enterprenaur ship!
by on Jan 29, 2007 09:17 PM  Permalink

A successfull enterprenaur is the one who pays big checks. So, no mater how big the pay check you draw, your skills are utilized by some other. This is any IT age.... you dont need experience in running a company... all you need is guts n skills to utilize others!!!

definitely entrepreneurship !!
by PREETHY THOMAS on Jan 29, 2007 08:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I would appreciate entrepreneurs as i m going to be a budding entrepreneur, pursuing post graduation diploma in entrepreneurship and business management.
I feel entrepreneurs are the one who take calculated risks in their life and try to create something of their own.
I believe everyone should have working experience of at least 1-2 years before starting something of their own.
I would suggest those young intelligent minds who are having entrepreneurial qualities to be an intrapreneur in a firm if they cannot open their own firm.best wishes!!

Experience very important
yes preethi agree that experience working elsewhere is very important. Especially a smaller company where exposure is present on all aspects of running business. Its not just the technical aspects, the financial, legal tax matters which take far more time than technical matters.. So guys and gals be ready for it if jumping into a business.
