Trusting the Organic Food
by Dinesh Akabari on Sep 23, 2006 08:38 PM  Permalink

" Compared to conventional foodstuff, this is more perishable as it doesn't use pesticides or preservatives. " <<<< This statement is always remain doubtful as there is no proper methods are practical do differentiate the organic foods from inorganic foods. In India there is also not any macinery who make people assure that the available organic food is fully trustable. In country like India where people have available water and food after harder efforts, the concept of organic food remains ar drama for creating the more profit.

Organic food

The product of high breed seeds though it is grown in an organic way,is not considered as healthy or organic food. Many European countries have banned on entry of BT Cotton.People generally use the oil from cotton seeds. This is the reason. It is also heard that high breed products have lesser food values. You can fill up your stomach without nutrition value rather with elements injurious to health. Some scientific research is required, without bias, on the subject.

organic foods
by Pankaj Butalia on Sep 22, 2006 03:04 PM  Permalink

My family has tried to shift to organic foods but is daunted by the exorbitant rates of foodgrains. Even an organisation like Navdanya, which was reasonably priced till a few months ago (between 10-20% above market prices) has now hiked its prices by between 200-300%.
It sells Zeera at more than 400 Rs. per Kg whereas non-organic zeera is available for 140 Rs. per Kg.
It upped its rice prices from Rs. 25/- per Kg to Rs. 75 per Kg. Either this means it is looting customers or is farming very inefficiently. Either way it is not a good sign for the organic food movement in this country.
