organic foods

My family has tried to shift to organic foods but is daunted by the exorbitant rates of foodgrains. Even an organisation like Navdanya, which was reasonably priced till a few months ago (between 10-20% above market prices) has now hiked its prices by between 200-300%. It sells Zeera at more than 400 Rs. per Kg whereas non-organic zeera is available for 140 Rs. per Kg. It upped its rice prices from Rs. 25/- per Kg to Rs. 75 per Kg. Either this means it is looting customers or is farming very inefficiently. Either way it is not a good sign for the organic food movement in this country.
