i think this talk of rice is expensive in usa is rediculous..even in china if you need good rice it costs 7-9 dollar/5kg bag in the taste of india groccery store. a dal in india restaurant costs usd 5/plate. and if you go to h.k it costs 2 times of the prices which i have written here so just stop saying usa is expensive come out with something better thanks
Dont worry at all about the food; the choices here are very extensive; in fact you will be spoilt for choice in terms of Indian food; initially, when there was some inertia regarding cooking, I used to buy a lot of MTR readymade indian curries and other such stuff; but I grew out of it; establish a routine, the food will be much cheaper than you might think, but you have to be careful not to splurge.
You have various other things to consider other than rice.You can be 100% sure that indian food is the most expensive thing here than in India and so is the luxury and variety which is limited here.Sorice is nottheonly comodity which is costily as it developed world everything else is costly compared to India
If you convert the price of stuff here in the Us to indian rupees , everything will be costlier.but you should also reckon your income in the Us in terms of the inidan rupees. In that case , you are a king of Inida her . So while you compare the costof stuf in any market , you must take into acount the recipt / income also of the people of that area. A labourer gets aout a minimum of 7$ per hour . That is about Rupees 315 /- rupees per hur .If you are capable , you can work een for twenty hours aday in a number of establishments at times more convenient for yourself . Say, you work for a minimum of 8 hours a day . Convert you r income per day also into Inidan rupees . Will not be rupees 2520 / per day.? Is it costly for aperson with such an income to apy $ 9 per 20Kgs of rice . he can pay $100/ per Kg of rice . Food is the cheapest in the US compared to the income of families . people who do complain abotu the cost are hypocrites . Their life in inida would be like lkife in slums and they live like kings hee and complain about cost .Non-sence .they why not they go back to Inida ,They won't fine job there and would not be able to work accodign to their convenience .
