Hi,
I am working in Govt. of India Dept. I have done full time MBA not from a very good institute. I want to go for GMAT. Is the previous MBA will prove to be a negative factor in a way to get admission in some good universities abroad. If yes, what are possible remedies??

Choosing specialisation
by ABC on Dec 25, 2006 12:18 PM  Permalink

Hi Karan,

I am a engineering graduate passed out in the year 2005. Right now, i am working for a company providing back end support of sales. Our business is done thru' reps who are in direct contact with the customer. In order to survive in our industry, we need to have good technical skills and our product is control valves.

I would like to take up MBA as my next venture but still like my present job. So, pls advise me if i can get any similar job (typially manufacturing companies) after my MBA that needs both technical as well as sales skills. Because nowadays most of the companies in campus recruitments are from IT & services? Can you throw me some light on some of the manufacturing companies recruiting MBAs and what do they expect typically from MBAs? Will the specialisation in Sales do for this one?

Thanks

MBA in New Zealand
by VIKRANT SARAF on Dec 13, 2006 11:46 AM  Permalink

The AUT, New Zealand MBA is based on "real world" learning and flexibility. It is suitable for working executives to maintain a balance between their professional as well as personal life. With a mixture of working and non-working students, an interactive environment is created inside the class.
This program is culturally rich and the desire to learn from conventional methodologies and interactive sessions makes it different from other programs in this zone.

MBA from Manchester
by Ajit on Oct 20, 2006 09:09 AM  Permalink

Dear Karan,
I am very keen in doing my MBA from Manchester and have been to their website to check out the course fee. It's hefty. If I have the capacity to arrange for only 25% of the course fee, arranging finance is a major roadblock for me to consider such B-schools. This has deterred me from even considering a B-school abroad. I have a very impressive track record both academically and professionally. Would appreciate your valuable inputs?

What's the point of this. You can find this written anywhere. Why not give some tangible stuff to work with.

choosing an overseas MBA
by shahinder on Oct 19, 2006 06:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Choosing to study overseas would expose one to the international scene. However such plans may go haywire due to lack of essential information.
Before getting admissions it would be good idea to know various options available --country,subjects, institute, working and yes even the option to immigrate
And remember admission without visa is like having a car without tyres!!!
Visa conditons..(who says they are applicable?) the most important should be weighed before you choose your country of study
